The Rainbow Bridge

...Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you...
I loved you so -
'twas heaven here with you.

I'm afraid I have heartbreaking news about Snoopy, whom you helped us adopt last February. We had a wonderful and fun-filled 3 1/2 months with him. He brought so much love and laughter into our home, and everyone who met him fell in love with him, as, of course did we. He loved to go for long walks, especially on the boardwalk that leads to a park near our home. He sniffed every tree on a regular basis to see who had been there! Sadly, he was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, which progressed very rapidly, and we had to end his suffering yesterday. What a sad and difficult day! I hate to bring you such awful news, but I thought you would want to know. Thanks again for all the wonderful work that you do. All the best, Jean

One of our dear volunteers has lost a special member of their family, Vinny. We lost a treasured friend today The little dog who used to lay HIS gentle head upon my knee And shared hIS silent thoughts with me. he’ll come no longer to my call Retrieve no more hIS favorite ball A voice far greater than my own Has called hIM to his golden throne. Although my eyes are filled with tears I thank him for the happy years He let hIM spend down here with me And for hIS love and loyalty. When it is time for me to go And join her there, this much I know I shall not fear the transient dark For he will greet me with a bark. ~Author Unknown (Thank you Janie for this sweet poem)

Pango was the companion of one of the rescue's very good friend, Billye. He was very loved and is very much missed.

Pumba the Precious Piggy
We adopted Pumba from your great organization in October 2012. Sadly we had to say good-bye to him this past Monday (jaw and throat cancer). He was a lovely creature and fit right away with our family ( a 10-year daughter, 2 female rescued bull mastiffs, one rescue cat, and the husband - yes, the last item on the totem poll ;-) ). We are so happy he came into our lives and thank you for rescuing him and giving us a chance to know him. The Vergopia Family

Lucky Dog
Lucky was born on August 30, 2010 and I rescued her and adopted her on February 16, 2011. She was less then 6 months old and the cutest and sweetest dog ever. Lucky was so smart and eager to please that she was doing all kinds of tricks within a week. She loved everyone, be they two legged or four. She loved to play with my other dog and all of the many fosters that spent time in my home. Lucky loved everyone and everyone loved her so much in return. Unfortunately at just over three years of age Lucky developed pains in her neck and it was determined after three weeks of medicating and testing including MRI X-ray and Ultra Sound, and spinal tap, that she had incurable auto immune disease and deformities in her skull and spinal problems. Her suffering ended on October 15, 2013. She is gone but will not be forgotten by the many that loved her.
