Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Cookie the Chihuahua

Adopting Cookie has been the best decision made for me and my 6 year old son, Jordan. I've always had dogs growing up and Jordan wanted one. We looked at a lab puppy but living on the 3rd floor of apartment Judy didn't think it was a good idea. Jordan and I were bummed but then Jordan saw Cookie, the Chihuahua. I wasn't so sure about her as they can be yippy and not nice with kids. Well that's the farthest thing from the truth with our Cookie. She is so sweet and loves to cuddle. She loves taking rides in the car and smelling the air and chillin in the sun and being nestled in the bed under the covers. We love her and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. Thanks Judy and the volunteers for your time, dedication and compassion for these animals. Sincerely, Noelle and Jordan

Clover the Declawed Gentleman
Clover the Declawed Gentleman

Hi Catherine, Thanks for your email. Clover is doing great. We spent Saturday and Sunday together. He enjoys sitting with me on the bed. I think he likes to watch TV especially Cats 101. LOL He also has found a special window perch where he likes to sit sometimes. Monday I took him to see Dr. Wayne. She gave him a Rabies shot and an allergy shot to help with the skin inflammation. Dr. Wayne thinks that Clover will have a scar around his neck where the collar was. She will monitor his progress regularly. He's getting lots of love & attention to help him heal. Clover and my dog Leroy were fast friends. They have even curled up on the bed next to each other. Clover has enjoyed exploring his new home and seems to like it. Clover is so adorable and such a joy. I look forward to many happy years together. Thanks for all you do for the precious animals. Susan

Coco the Shih Tzu

Judy, I know you like to hear about the dogs that you adopt out and here are two "mug shots" of Coco who we adopted from you last Nov., 2010. In one she has on her vest for Be An Angel Therapy Dog Ministries and the other is without her vest. She is a delight to not only us but to many folks in assisted living facilities, nursing homes and a child's pediatric day care. They love Coco and she has been a blessing to them. We are currently getting set up with Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs and Florida Children's hospital. She is such a gentle sweet soul. Pat

Cassandra the Pirate Pup
Cassandra the Pirate Pup

Hi Bethany! Yes, thank you for all you helped with. It was a VERY HARD decision between Freda and Cassandra. We also decided that we would apply to be a foster for Lil Girl. I will fill out the forms on line later today. . Cassie did VERY WELL last night - surprised both of us - no mess in the house and has already learned where her food is and her bed. She is very smart and loving. She does not care for the peanut butter filled Kong toy, but is having fun with her small ball (she tosses it herself). Here are a couple pictures of her in the yard and house. We thought that maybe on her first birthday, maybe we would have her sisters and brothers over for a BBQ (with your staff invited also). Take care and we will keep you up to date on her progress. Joe and Peggy

Caddy

Caddy is doing well. She enjoys climbing onto top shelf in my closet as well as lounging on the patio overlooking pool and lake. She and my resident cat (Mosch) are not pals yet and I still keep them separated when I am not home, but Caddy now hangs out with us – a clear indication of her growing confidence. I can’t pet her yet but I am sure that will come in due time. Just wanted to let you know that she does seem pretty happy. All the best, Julia
