3/6 foster update: Liora weighs just over 20 pounds and has a sturdy little build, making her a wonderful medium-size companion. In her foster home, she has proven to be well behaved and not destructive—she doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t and is very easy to live with.

She does pull strongly on the leash, especially for a senior like me without a lot of strength. Loud outside noises (including cars zooming by) scare her, and she will suddenly pull away and can easily pull you off your feet. She’s  a smart girl who already knows several commands and is eager to please. When it’s time to relax, Liora is more than happy to curl up beside you for a nap.

Liora can sometimes be startled by loud noises like passing cars or windy conditions during walks, so she’ll do best with a patient adopter who can help her feel safe and secure. She has not been around other dogs yet, and with her skittishness, I would recommend her as the only dog or with a calm, submissive canine. A fenced backyard to keep her safely within her boundaries would be ideal as she is startled by new sounds and people.

Liora is a gentle, loving girl whose tail is almost always wagging. She simply wants to be close to her person and share her affection. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with love, Liora may be the perfect match for you.
