Dallas a Discarded Mom

Oh my goodness, Miss Dallas has waited so long to find her furever home.    We are so happy for her.   Thank you for giving her a Happy Adoption Day!

Dallas a Discarded Mom

To all my friends at Pet Rescue By Judy:
Hi, it's Dallas, remember me?  I have been with my Mom and Dad now for four weeks, and I just wanted to let all of you know how I am doing.  You were all really good to me, and I miss you, but I LOVE my forever home!
The day I left PRBJ, I rode in Dad's car, and I sat on the console between him and Mom...that was so much fun! When we got to my new home, we walked around the neighborhood.  We walk a lot, and all of the kids in the neighborhood love me.  They all run over to scratch my ears and hug me, and I lick their faces.  I love walks, and I am usually a really good girl, but sometimes I see a squirrel or a cat, and I want to chase them SO BAD.  Mom and Dad tell me "no", and pull me away, though.
Oh, I almost forgot!  Mom and Dad said that since I have a new life now, I should also have a new name, so my new name is Zoe.  I even have a pretty charm on my collar that says Zoe.
When we got into my house, there was a big crate just like the one I had at PRBJ.  It has a soft bed in it, and a comforter than I love.  There were also new toys, and a doggie bed.  I like my crate, Mom and Dad leave the door open, so I go in and out of it whenever I want to.  I usually sleep in my crate, but sometimes I sleep in my favorite spot, my couch!  I share the couch with Mom and Dad, because I like it the most when they sit on either side of me.  They scratch my belly and my ears, and I put my head in their laps.
In the mornings, Mom comes downstairs before I am ready to wake up, but I always wag my tail, and I lick her face when she leans down to say, "Good morning, Beautiful!"  After I wake up and have breakfast, Dad comes downstairs, and I run over to say good morning and lick his face (you remember, I love to lick faces).  We spend a lot of time together, and we really love each other.  Sometimes Mom and Dad say that even though they rescued me, I really rescued them.  They also said they want me to tell you thank you for taking such good care of me and loving me so much until they could find me.
Well, I have to go now, I hope all of my friends at Pet Rescue By Judy are doing just as good as I am.  I send face licks to all of you.
Love,
Zoe / Dallas

My husband took this photo of Zoe (you knew her as Dallas) playing Peek-a-boo on Friday , I thought you might enjoy it.  We love her so much, she has a great sense of humor.

Dallas a Discarded Mom

July 14, 2017
Dear Judy and Friends,
Although I have written to you a few times since my husband and I adopted “ Dallas ” (NKA Zoe) in January, I wanted to write to you again.  We have had Zoe for a little over six months now, and I cannot begin to tell you how much better our lives are simply because we chose to expand our little family.  It was just the two of us, and we didn’t even know that something was missing, we thought we were perfectly happy.
When we went to your location, we originally asked about a different dog, which I had seen on your website.  Hannah gave us some info, and we knew that this dog would not be a good fit for us.  At that time, “ Dallas ” was in the front office in a crate, and we observed some children petting her and talking to her;  their Dad told us how much they loved this particular dog.  Hannah asked if we wanted to walk outside with her and Dallas , since she needed a potty break anyway, and we did.  Then, we visited with Dallas in your meet and greet area, and we saw how sweet and loving she was.
We had also visited with three other great dogs at Pet Alliance that morning, so we knew we had to make a decision.  We went to lunch and discussed the pros and cons of each dog, and decided on Dallas .  We picked her up a few days later, and she instantly worked her way into our hearts.  On the ride home, she tried to climb in Rob’s lap in the driver’s seat.  There was no real “settling in” period, she just made herself right at home, and we took to one another right away.
I am happy to tell you that the three of us are still blissfully happy together!  She has dropped six pounds (the vet recommended ten, so we are working on it), and she loves her daily walks through the neighborhood.  All of the kids in our subdivision know and love her.  It is not unusual to hear a shout of “Zoe!” from behind or ahead of us, then for a child to run up and throw their arms around her.  She is good with all of them, but especially with the younger ones.  There is a little girl in our neighborhood who was terrified of dogs originally…but, Zoe won her over.  And the adults all comment on how well behaved she is.  For that, we thank you, because she had a really good start.  We were brand new to dog ownership, so we can’t take credit for her behavior.
Zoe has a great sense of humor, and makes us laugh on a daily basis, but it is mostly her sweet nature that makes us love her.  She can be stubborn at times (she is known to stop and lay down on the sidewalk if she is tired of walking, or wants to observe a cat or squirrel), but we can’t even get mad at her for it, because she is so loving and sweet.  When I come home from work in the afternoons, her entire body “wags”, she is so excited to see me.  She loves it best when all three of us can do something together, so we don’t really feel like she has a “favorite.”
Anyway, I didn’t mean to go on this long.  I just wanted to let you know that we were a match made in heaven, and that your beloved “ Dallas ” has indeed found her forever home.  Bless all of you for everything you do to make sure the dogs in your care find the right homes, where they will be loved and taken care of.  And mostly, bless all of you for taking such good care of our little girl until she rescued us.
I am also sending a copy of our adoption day photo, and two new photos, I hope you enjoy them.

Much love,
Carla, Rob, and Zoe

Dallas a Discarded Mom

Hi there, friends!
I have been with my Mom and Dad for almost a year now, and I am doing really, really well.  My Mom works for the Orlando Fringe Theatre Festival, and I got to go with her this year!  It was so much fun, everybody loved on me and took my picture, because I looked so pretty in my purple tutu.  I thought you might like to see a picture.  I hope you are all doing well!
Love,
Zoe (but you knew me as Dallas )
