Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families. We invite you to read along with us. If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going! We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness. And while you're here, enjoy this lovely video created by Jade, one of our teen volunteers ~ such talent and such a heart!
Good afternoon. Back on 5/10/2010 Julie and I adopted Addie and renamed her MJ. I was hesitant at adopting her because I lost my daschund Rose to a brain tumor 8 months prior and I did not want to go through losing another dog. Her death hurt me very badly.
I wanted to mention that MJ is an angel. She is exactly what I needed. I give her what she needs everyday: 3 mile walks, many toys, boundaries and limitations, and lots of love. She comes to me without being called into the bathroom every night to have her teeth brushed. She even lets me cut her nails. She loves to swim and she loves the dog park and she really loves staying at the parc pet and suites.
She also gives me what I need everyday which is unconditional love and companionship. I tell her everyday that I love her and how pretty she is. She is my favorite dog and I love all dogs.
I just wanted you to know that this particular dog is a gift from a great place. I am making every effort to give her the best doggy life possible. I am so grateful for the blessing of being her daddy. Now that she is almost 2 years old I reflect back upon my hesitancy and i know my life is that much more fulfilled with MJ by my side.

Dear Judy (and everyone involved with prbj),
I wish I had remembered to write sooner but I suppose Later is better than never! I hope everything is going well with all of you and the little babies you take care of daily. It's been three years since My boyfriend and I adopted Comet (the real love of my life, lol) from you guys and I wanted to let you know just how well he is doing. I remember when my boyfriend (Maciek) saw him online and instantly fell in love. He was so disappointed when he thought comet was adopted and couldn't even look at any other dogs to adopt and said he would reconsider in the future. WELL, a week later there he was! So we immediately filled out an application, called to set up a meeting with him to see him in person and right then he knew that comet had to come home with him. A few days later after you accepted the application I remember going down there to pick him up and fill out paperwork and Maciek couldn't even speak he was so excited. He just sat there filling out paperwork looking up and smiling. It was definitely one of the best feelings in the world knowing that comet was coming home with us. I can't imagine my life without him and he has truly been such a big part of both of our lives since the day we took him home. He's about 4 years old now and I have to say, he has pretty much the same energy as he did the day we got him. He's definitely living the life (in his mind) with daily bike rides, a huge backyard, hiking trips, the beach and pretty much anything you can think of. He's honestly so spoiled its obnoxious. Whether it be with a million toys or endless love from us and his/our friends and families. I really wanted to tell you what a wonderful thing you do for these animals and we can't thank you enough for letting comet be a part of our lives. We love every minute of him and hope that everyone gets the satisfaction that we do from adopting the animals at prbj.
Thank You Again,
<3 Lindsay, Maciek and Comet
Just wanted to let you knw gabby is doing fine. She is so sweet we have a vet appointment tomorrow and she goes in the create when I have to work with no problem. I take her out when I get
home and sometimes she just goes in for no reason. She made herself at home sits on couch and jumps on bed to sleep at night. I haven't had any peeing problems she seems to let me knw when she has to
go out. The cats get in her grill she just smells them and licks their face. Thanks again she is a sweet little girl and I did get that pink collar with some bling
Hi Catherine and Happy New Year to you too!
Midnight is doing very well and has adapted to his new home better than we
expected. He has moved in as though he has lived here forever. Your early
comments that he might be a bit of a biter were right on. Lilian and I both
got chomped on until we learned his "tell". I am certain it wasn't
aggressive, but just the way he reacts to our interactions. Now that we know
what triggers it we have been able to get him to stop. It also helped to
increase his play time. He has a VERY favorite toy - a sort of "bird on a
stick", that will keep him engaged until he runs out of energy. He
definitely DOES bite the "bird".
Most of the time he simply acts like a cat. He likes to be near us, but not
on us. He isn't a lap cat. He is more like a dog in that he likes to be
next to us and be petted.
I have attached a couple photos from this weekend. In one he is in his
favorite place doing his favorite thing - napping. In the other he decided
sleeping on my grubby, and probably stinky, old work shoes was just the
ticket.
Thanks for checking in. We are happy to send an update whenever you would
like.

All is well here. Tinker (Piper) has adapted well to her new home and with our family. She just went to the vet this morning for her last distemper shot.
I've added a few pictures of her and with Boo, her adopted sister. After getting to know each other, they play so well together. It’s wonderful!
Thank you for bringing her into our lives.
