Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Peanut the English Toy Pinscher
Peanut the English Toy Pinscher

We're doing just fine (except that it's very hard to type with a mini-pin snuggled up in your shirt). Peanut has adopted me and refuses to leave my side, which is a good thing and exactly what you said he would do. Gracie was still sleeping when Peanut & I got home this morning (after working last night) so we had about four hours of pure male bonding time with just me and him and he's done gone and gotten all attached to me. He loves to be inside my shirt, all snuggled up. Right now he would much rather be with me than her but that will change. He's so sweet, and smart too! Twice now, he has jumped down on the floor and gotten all excited and stuff, spinning in circles and making small whiny noises. At first I was a little confused because he did it right out of the blue and I wasn't sure what was going on. All became clear when I reach for his leash, and he ran for the door and started dancing. I put his leash on, took him outside where he quickly showed me that I had indeed interpreted his sign language correctly. When he was done, he pranced back to the house all proud of himself. I was proud of him too and praised him big time. He just LOVED that part. So, I think it's safe to say he approves of and is comfortable with the situation.

Penelope the BC Puppy

Happy Holidays! We adopted our dog from Pet Rescue by Judy earlier this year and just love her so much! (I have attached a picture of her graduating from her puppy school). Her name was “Penelope the BC” when we adopted her, but we have renamed her Kenzie. She brings so much joy to our household and my husband and I can’t imagine life without her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for uniting me with our puppy, Kenzie. Becky

Phil the Irish Wolfhound/Lab Mix

We have had McAllister (your name for him was Phil) for almost a month now and he is settling in nicely. McAllister is VERY active and in to everything. Being fairly tall he can Counter Surf with no trouble at all. However, he is always contrite when scolded for stealing, grabbing, chewing, running away with, almost anything he can get his mouth around. We took a trip to the Keys and he seems to love riding in the car/ Or at least we think he does. He actually falls asleep before we even get moving. A wonderful dog who has made people and dog friends all over the neighborhood already. From the photos you will see that he does look relaxed. Thanks for rescuing him for us. Terry and Lynne
