I adopted Mel, my Border Collie from your rescue through Giselle on July 14, 2009. Mel loves our new house because it is bigger and has a lot more room for him and his brother Chevy to run around and play! He also loves playing Frisbee on the beach! LOL Thanks for your help, Tina

Max the Man

Hi Yvette- Thanks for the note. We’ve decided to call him Astro. He is actually calmly sitting next to my chair. He was explosively energetic when he came out of the crate this morning and after work this evening but he didn’t make a mess at all. If you don’t mind could you also forward this to Judy. I took Astro to the vet today for an exam and a heartworm blood test and all came back negative. Plus he charmed all the girls at the animal clinic into giving him handfuls of treats. Regards, Louis

Maxwell the Border Collie

Greetings Pet rescue by Judy! As I've seen all the success stories on the website, I thought I would offer a bit of an update on my dog 'Maxwell the border collie' whom I adopted from PRBJ last March. I couldn't have asked for a better adopted dog! He gets along great with our other terrier mix, Jane, and almost never misbehaves. He takes trips to the Fleet Peeples dog park on a regular basis and loves swimming, but was pretty wary of it at first...now I cant keep him out of the pool and/or lake! He's a very smart dog and sometimes that gets him into trouble, but he's happy all the time. I've attached some recent updated photos, and thanks for such a great adoption! Regards, Quinton

Manuela the BC Lab

I thought you might like an update on Manuela. We are calling her mostly Ella, unless she misbehaves, and then it is Manuela. She is a welcome addition to our family, and we consider her to be such a blessing! She is getting used to life at our house and learning our house rules. She and our border collie, Abby, get along great. They look quite a bit alike---same size, similar coloring and identical energy levels. Ella has the lab face, but the border collie markings. She loves running and playing with Abby in our yard. We have three acres of land, so the dogs have plenty of space for exercise. She is good with our 8 pygmy goats. She is learning from Abby more about herding. She seems to have more lab traits, but Abby shows her what to do, and we are sure she will pick it up. She is fascinated with our two bunnies and just sits and watches them while they hop around their cage. They stay indoors with us at night and while we are at work. Oh—and she loves to ride in the car with Abby. We take them with us for a ride as much as possible. She is learning to recognize the Tractor Supply Store. We get our goat food there, and the clerks keep dog treats under the counter. As soon as they get through the door they sit by the counter until the girls give them a few treats. So, all in all, I’d say she is pretty happy here. She is a very affectionate dog and loves to be around people. My husband and I feel we made the right choice in adopting her. Mercedes the Terrier

Thank you so much! Mercedes is perfect! she was an instant fit! We took her to the groomer and got her all pretty with the works, and then brought her home. She has great temperment with all the animals she has met, and listens pretty well. She knows sit, stop,stay,down,roll over, up, and a few others. she's such a sweet and loving dog ! Thank you for everything again!
