Description:
Foster Update - 6/19/13 - Diego and is a very energetic and playful cat. He’s a big kitten – anything is a toy – including toes, the litter-box, and my daughter’s hair bands (have to hide them). My kids nicknamed him “monkey” because he is smart, playful, and he squeaks like a monkey when he jumps out to play chase! He is affectionate & likes being petted-very sweet. He doesn’t like being alone but he squirms if held for more than a few minutes/currently too active to be a lap cat (although he stays in the room & likes people’s company). He and his companion kitten Sheena run, roll, and leap all over our house-he’s always up for a wrestling match with Sheena and would do best in a home with another playful cat. He likes playing with our children, although he can be fearful of the loud noises that a very young child might make (aka toddler). Ideal home for him would be one where he has a playful feline companion – also a family or young couple who would play with him and have the energy to keep up with this “little monkey”! Good with cats and children (ours are 9 & 11). )! He is on a special diet to prevent urinary infections but is really good about using the litter-box.
Foster Update - 3/10/13 - Diego's life began in a hoarding situation where 45 cats were left for weeks on end to fend for themselves. Despite being neglected and abandoned, he is probably the sweetest, most irresistibly loving foster cat I've ever had. This little boy came to me is such a horrid state that we didn't think he was going to survive much longer. His bladder was completely blocked by a blood clot and he hadn't urinated in days. But regardless of the excruciating pain he was experiencing, all he wanted was to be doted on and show loads of affection to us in return. Diego stayed at the vets office for 4 days and the entire staff fell madly in love with him. Fortunately, they were able to remove the blood clot, patch him back up and send him on his way. I swear to you that this cat knows what he's been through and is so grateful. It's astonishing how adoring he is of everyone after the trauma he has endured. Diego seeks out attention all day and night long. His sweet little mouse squeaks just make us melt in his paws. I can't wait for this love bug to find his forever home with a family who can be as devoted to him as he'll be to them.
Foster Update - 2/27/2013 - Diego was rescued from a very bad home but you would never know it based on his personality. From the moment we walk in the room, he will not sit still. This boy is the most aggressive cuddlier I've ever come across. I am madly in love!!!
