Stella and her companion are looking for homes since there mommy can no longer afford to keep them! They are so sweet and wonderful! We would definally love to adopt them together but know committing to two dogs is alot!

Stella, a shihtzu was born in Jan 2009.  She loves to play with her toys and tennis balls.   She is potty trained (peepee pad outside) and crate trained.  She eats Iams proactive dog food and likes treats.   She is good with people children and other dogs.  She will be afraid at first but she will come around. She is a little bit of a barker and  she loves to have her tummy rubbed.

We would really like Stella and Lola to be adopted together, they are really a bonded pair. Stella in particular, who is a bit shy, looks to Lola to make sure everything is ok.

Are you unfamiliar with the Shih Tzu breed? Pronounced SHEET-sue, they are known as alert, spunky, happy and hardy. They are bred with an underbite which gives them a constant "smile." Traditionally, their coat is kept long, with ears blending into the body, distinct mustache, and a top knot secured with a bow. However, in our Florida climate, many are clipped short to relieve them of the heat. An alert watch dog, Shih Tzus like to bark but are usually quiet in the house. Originally from China, they were a favorite of the Imperial Chinese court and so revered that for many years after the Chinese began trading with the West, they refused to sell, or even give away, any of the little dogs.
