Description:
Flutternutter is a very, very friendly kitten. He has had a tough start on life but we're hoping to give him a great finish! This was sent to me by the volunteer found him:
"Flutternutter is indeed the sweet kitty that I rescued. Actually, I think Flutternutter must have heard about me from some other cats in the neighborhood that know how much I love them because it is he that found me! Ironically, I had just returned home from an adoption event at PetSmart (I was introducing good boy Rhett to his new family) and as I approached the rear of my house I could hear two cats meowing their heads off. I entered our screened-in pool area to find our cat Tabitha meowing at another cat from inside the screen. Low and behold, there is Flutternutter on the outside of the screen! Our dear Tabs was not being very friendly towards Flutternutter and was actually meowing, growling, and hissing but poor Flutternutter was just meowing in a way that said, "Please someone help me!". As I got closer to him I could see right away that he had been through some sort of terrible attack. The wounds had already stared to heal because they had turned into scabs but they were all over his head and neck, especially a very large wound right on top of his beautiful head. I went outside our screen door and he came to me instantly without hesitation. I started petting him while offering comforting words and right away he wanted to be loved. I knew from the start that this cat was indeed a loving sweetheart in desperate need of help. I ran to the garage and got one of our cat carriers and brought it around back to where he was waiting for me. I coaxed him into the carrier and he very willingly and happily obliged. I think he knew right away that his troubled times would hopefully be over. I rushed back over to PetSmart once the adoptions were over so that I could introduce him to Judy and the rest is history. I wish that I could be the one to foster or even adopt this beautiful sweetheart but we already have a few cats and dare I mention that my husband is allergic! My wish is for Flutternutter to find a forever, loving home where he can enjoy the rest of his life without fearing for it while offering all of his love an affection. He is a very special kitty that needs a very special home. He is truly a dream cat!"

He is FIV positive but don't be scared off by FIV - it just means that he is less resistant to infection and must live indoors and not be exposed to outdoor cats. With proper love and care, he will have a normal life.
A recent update from his new foster mom included this:
"Flutternutter is doing really well! He has gained a lot of weight, eating really well, loves to play more than any cat I have ever seen and is really just a sweetheart."

1/12/2007 Update: "Flutternutter & Cheeks are doing really well. They are both as healthy as can be (I still can't believe they are FIV positive!!), playful, very loveable, and are the best of friends. Flutternutter has grown into a great big adult cat (18 lbs!!). He has the biggest paws I have ever seen on a cat and looks like a little lion. He is the most beautiful cat and his fur is incredible. Their personalities are so sweet considering what they have been through. I think this amazes me more than anything.
Flutternutter and Cheeks have everything they need and more which all goes along with them (tons of toys, cat condos, litter boxes, food, litter,
window perches....you name it, they have it). The ideal would be for them
to be together, but I realize this may not be possible. Since Cheeks is older he is very laid back, doesn't play much and love to just sit in the window. Fluternutter, being much younger than Cheeks, loves to play and chase things and has a lot more energy.
Flutternutter is not shy at all and loves attention. Neither of them are high maintenance. I was worried about Flutternutter because of his fluffy coat, but amazingly it is really silky and soft and he takes care of his own grooming. He really doesn't like to be brushed."
