Description:

 

Munchin was surrendered, along with his mom and sister, when his owner became too sick to care for them. Munchin is housetrained and walks well on a leash. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night.  Munchin is very playful and does play with other dogs. 

However, he will need to be fed separately from other dogs as he is food assertive around other canines.  

 

Dachshunds do   best in a one-story house as they aren’t designed to run up and down stairs, and constant climbing could eventually lead to spinal injuries which are common to Doxies. Owners  should also discourage jumping up/down from furniture which can also lead to spinal injuries. Many Doxie owners place a doggie stool or ramp near furniture for their buddy to climb up and down safely.
