Thank you all again for giving Taffy a home while she waited to find me. She is one happy and spoiled pup now. I can’t believe it’s already been three months.

just had to write and tell you have a major breakthrough Taffy has had recently. I don’t know how or why, but within the past two weeks, she has suddenly discovered that people are good! I cannot walk by a neighbors house with somebody in the yard and not have her pull me over to them. And at her now 51 pounds of muscle weight, she can pull! She insists on meeting anybody that she sees these days. So now we have a bunch of neighbors and as we take our morning walks, she is constantly being cuddled and loved on. I don’t know what happened, but I have been with her for almost 2 years now, so maybe that’s a magic point. She still isn’t too fond of other dogs when she is on leash, but that’s OK. Given her arthritis, I don’t let her run around too much anymore.

It’s just a marvel to me every day how this wonderful dog didn’t get adopted for so long, and even more, how that one adopter could’ve been so cruel to her. I would love to ring his neck.

Beautiful Taffy celebrating her ninth birthday!

We are doing really well. Can you believe it's been almost 4 years since we officially became family? She is now 10 years young. Had a really good check up with the vet. No issues apart from her arthritis. I think her raw food diet I make for her makes all the difference! Her arthritis is pretty much under control with supplements, but we have had to start using a ramp to get in/out of the car. She learned to use it like a champ! She's such an angel. Happy girl living the life of Reilly. I had foot surgery in January, so we are only now returning to our 2 mile walks in the mornings. She loves them! I think she enjoys our walks more than being off leash in the dog park! Pretty soon it will be nice enough to go to the river. She LOVES that!! And the beach of course.
