Sadly beautiful Alyssia did not have a happy home.   She was not treated very well from her previous owner.  She is safely back at Pet Rescue by Judy.  She is so amazingly beautiful, she is adjusting very well to being back  and has madea friends with our loving Big Mama.   She would benefit to be in a foster home with someone who could show her lots of love and attention  spend time with her, play with her.   She is very mellow and sweet no aggression at all in her.  Her photo will be updated.

Mother Lauretta, siblings, Elsa, Remington, Alex, Arianna

FOSTER NOTES: Alyssia needs to go to a relatively calm, family that will spend a lot of time with her and will help her to come out of her shell and forget the past. Any quick motions or loud noises send her running to a corner in the house but I have intentionally been making loud noises and reassuring her that it will be okay. On day 6, she hasn't hid once.

Alyssia is one of the sweetest, well-behaved dogs I have ever met and will want to sleep on the bed at night, cuddle on the couch during the evening. She is low-key and sleeps on the couch when I am at home. She is house trained and walks beautifully on a leash. She will cry for attention or when she is afraid to come out of a room but wants to be with you. In the beginning I didn't push things with her and let her come to me. Now she is following me around the house and getting excited about feeding time so it's a process.

*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
