Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Cypress the Beautiful Hound Mix
Cypress the Beautiful Hound Mix

Yvette, They are getting along very well. Still an occasional growl from Cy but it is usually because Lex won’t stop bugging him. He’s had a couple accidents inside (thank God for tile floors) – it’s taking him a little to get use to going potty while on the leash but we’ll get there. He definitely bonded with Teri and Jacquelyn more than me which leads me to believe that a male figure abused him at some point. I’ve attached a picture of the two of them playing. Cy will come up to Lex and then “poke” Lex in the neck or side and jump back with his Hindend in the air and his front paws on the ground. Lex doesn’t really know what to do but stare so it’s funny to watch. It reminds me of the movie Bolt from Disney where the cat is teaching Bolt how to play with the puppy; only here we don’t have the talking cat to train Lex;-) Did you register the id tag? I thought you were going to register it and send me the email but my memory isn’t what it use to be. Cy is a very good dog and he is so pretty (that’s what the girls all say). He is nervous and very jumpy but that will change as he acclimates. He came right into the house with Lex without any problems. We took him on the short leash to Pets Mart to get a muzzle, some food, and a couple other things a new addition needs. He was a bit scared of going into the door at Pets Mart but went ahead and came in. He struggled with their very waxed and polished floors and shook like a leaf but gradually calmed down. He was not nearly as cautious with people who came up to him, even men which was a nice surprise and gives us confidence that he will gain confidence when he realizes he won’t get spanked in this family! That’s the readers digest version, we bought him a pet bed last night and he slept on it on Teri’s side of the bed all night. When I wasn’t in the room he’d jump up on the bed with Teri ! Lex always sleeps on the bed at least part of the night so it’s ok and again as he warms up to me a little more I think he’ll do the same with me. Thank you for all the help and for all you’ve done for Cypress. We will absolutely do our best for him as well. Sincerely, Ron, Teri, Lex, and Cypress!
