Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Sadie the Lab
Sadie the Lab

Just wanted to thank you for all of your help, we love Sadie sooooo much!!! Even the cat is getting along well with her, hopefully after a week things won't change too much as they get used to each other!! I would like to go to the vet with her i have some questions, etc, so i'll figure out a way to attend, i'll have to speak to Michelle, i'm told. Please let the foster parents know that they can see her anytime, they were very sweet, and as i understand really rehabilitated her very well. Thanks again, Janie. Tiffany and family

Scarlett
Scarlett

From: "Jan Jahosky" To: Hi - Just about a year ago I adopted a dog through you at the Petsmart in Casselberry. I was recently at another pet store and was chatting with a volunteer who suggested I send over some photos. She doesn't sit still so well for photos, but I attached the best few I have. This past January, I adopted a dog from Seminole County and now Scarlett has a best buddy to run and play with. It's the black dog in the photos. They are always together. Scarlett is such a wonderful addition to our family. Her tail and head are up - and I think she's really happy to be here too. You can probably tell she's gained a bit of weight. ~ Jan J.

Snickers the CockerSpaniel
Snickers the CockerSpaniel

Snickers is wonderful. He is the hit of the neighborhood - kids are fascinated with the fact that he is blind but walks! He is getting 4 walks a day plus anytime in the backyard. I bought a crate and he'll lay down in during the day. Was using it at night initially but found he does not have accidents at night and he sleeps through the night (~11:00pm - 6:00am)better than when in the crate. ~ Sheila W.

Here is a recent photo of Sadie, adopted from PRBJ in November of 2006. She is now one and a half years old and is doing very well. She is by far the best dog I've ever owned! I passed your website address along to several friends and family members in hopes that they will all sign the petition for Extreme Makeover to build a new shelter for the animals. Keep up the good work Judy! You have the support of more people than you know! Sincerely, Rich C.

Shiloh
Shiloh

I just wanted to touch base with you on Shiloh. She is an amazing dog, and I think that when I got her home she realized this would be her home. She walked around and checked the place out and started acting like this has always been her home. She adapted really quick. As far as her with Ember, surprisingly the love one another. Ember greeted her when she came in, they played and ran around the house together. She adores Mike, and she listens to both of us really well, so far.... My husband had them on the bed with him playing and they just curled up together. Its like they are best buds, its truly amazing. But of course when it was time to actually go to bed that was another story. We put her in her cage with the new bed Mike got her, and covered it with a sheet. But as I am sure you know she starting whining and talking to us, I felt really bad and wanted her to feel like part of the family. So I let her out and had a bed for her next to me on the floor, she sat on it for a bit looking at me. Then she decided she wanted on the bed, so she jumps up and quickly lays down at the bottom of the bed by our feet. So my hubby and I decided to just let her stay there. Then I felt her creeping up towards me and planted herself right next to me and Ember, Ember got up and layed between Shiloh's legs and head, and that is how the night went. Apart from the fact that I woke up with Shiloh on her back and her legs up in the air in my face. So it looks like she will be sleeping with us and it looks like her and Ember will be great together. I have pictures that I took also and I will have to email you. But I really feel like Shiloh knows this will be her home. Thank you so much for such a wonderful animal. She is truly a blessing. We love her so much. Yours Truly, Rebecca & Mike
