Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Copper is now 4 months old. Very family friendly. Enjoys going to the pet parks. She'll check things out some before jumping in & playing with the other dogs. She is still learning commands, so she still has a wild side. She knows sit & stay. In fact, when she sits, she gives her paw to shake. She is always happy to see any of us. What a great welcome that is. Enjoys going out for walks, is curious, house broken, after only 2 minor accidents & just a joy to be with. ~ Lee and Joe C.

Southern Sal
Southern Sal

Hi Janie, I just wanted to say thank you so much for your help with the application/adoption process for "Southern Sal". We brought him home yesterday and he is the sweetest dog ever! He had absolutely no problem sleeping through the night in his crate and has no "accidents" either. My girls just adore him and he is so good around them. I took him to get groomed today..actually just a really good cleaning. He looks so cute and shiny! His demeanor is very mild tempered and he is very good on the leash. Right now is fast asleep on our kitchen floor and it feels like he has always been with us. He is a wonderful addition to our family. And my daughter Maggie, named him "Bandit". Everybody at Pet Rescue were so nice and we would like to thank Amanda for being with us during our visits and helping with the adoption process. She was really nice and you can tell how everybody really cares about the animals. I will definintely spread the word about your organization. It was a super experience. Thanks again! Carol H.

Hi Jackie! Bella's doing great. The first 3 photos were the day after she moved in. The last 3 are after a trip to Max's groomer for a puppy groom. Such a GIRL!!! Took her to my vet last week. He said she was doing fine, but was concerned because she was a little underwieght, so she still inhales her food! Max gets less than half what he has me give her and she is done before he is!!! They are getting along great - most of the time; although I can see she is wanting to be possesive of me. She is just SO cute - she plays with the toys a lot.... Max just sleeps! Enjoy your new baby Oh, I'm calling her Bella - Pam

Janie, Thanks for your support through the transition period. T-Bone has blended well with our family now and graduated from Obedience School. He is a crazy fellow, we have come to love very much. I wanted to share a couple of photos. In one photo he seemed to be as surprised as we were that he graduated at all. He still steals pillows off the bed and distroys them if he is not closely supervised, but we probably needed new ones any way. You can add us to your list of success stories. Dawn F.

Smokey Blue the Senior Cat ~ DECLAWED
Smokey Blue the Senior Cat ~ DECLAWED

Dear Stephanie, Happy New Year to you and Jackie! Cassie is doing great! She is however in danger of being hugged and kissed too much! Gerry and I love her and she seems to love us back. She does not seem to mind all the affection we give her - so we take that as a good sign. I haven't weighed her recently but I think she may have gained another pound. She is a very good eater and I like to feed her. Cassie still eats her hard cat food from the yellow frisbie Jackie sent her off with. I initially put her hard food in a regular dish but she was not eating it. So, I put the food in her yellow frisbie and she ate from the frisbie. I am still putting her hard cat food in it. She watches TV with me every night. That is her time for a lot of cuddling. We love Cassie and I am so glad we got her. She is so right for us. I think of you and Jackie and what wonderful people you are. Thank you so much for Cassie. Sincerely, Adele
