Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Sammy the Lab (Video)
Sammy the Lab (Video)

I LOVE SAMMY! I brought him home yesterday :-) My cat and him are still seeing who is boss!!!! It is funny really. He does well on a leash, he actually went to his crate on his own when he was ready for bed which I thought was a hoot! He follows me everywhere, when I sit he lays down at my feet...he is a great dog thank you so much I have a buddy!

Sugar Plum the American Bulldog

Hi, Sugar Plum is doing so well, we loved her the minute we saw her! The first night she wondered around the house a while exploring and in the backyard as well. She loves the back yard, she runs from one end to the other. She slept in the crate the first night, and did fine, then with me on the bed last night. She is eating well and has had no accidents. We go out for a morning and evening walk, weather permitting and doesn't pull much on the leash. We have a vet appointment this morning at 11:00 for her first visit and have the heart-worms tested again. Ordered food from the Pet Pantry and will be delivered sometime today, they are very nice there. Thank you so much for all the information you provided, you have done such a great job with her in the short time she was with you. I am going to contact the trainer and get her set up for training. I attached a picture, but not sure if it worked or not. I will keep in touch and let you know how she is doing. Donna

Sherri the Chinese Crested
Sherri the Chinese Crested

Cherry (formerly Sherri) and Mercy. My husband and I brought Cherry into our home on Thanksgiving Day 2009, and six months later, on Memorial Day 2010 brought home Mercy. While both came to us with some of life's "battle scars", they are both so very sweet, good-natured, well-behaved and forgiving. Cherry and Mercy have given us the privilege of providing for their needs - love - attention. We are now a typical family (!!) of 4 ... a home where each member is accepting of the other's idiosyncracies. While this photo is fuzzy, it should be clear that these 2 sweethearts belong to us and we belong to them. Thank you Judy and Amanda.

Shirley the Dachshund
Shirley the Dachshund

Judy: About a month ago we rescued our little dog from you. She was named Shirley, but we changed her name to Snuggles. She is part dachshund and part chocolate lab. As you can see from the picture, she settled in quite nicely in our home. Our other dog, who was also a rescue, is Georgia. She is part Boston Terrier and part whippet. They are now best buddies. We wanted you to see for yourself. Looking forward to Christmas with these two pals. Merry Christmas to you and your staff. Ken and Darlene Hawes

Sheska the Kitty
Sheska the Kitty

We are so happy to have Leo and Sheska. It appears they never forgot each other. We have changed Sheska's name to Peanut because she's so tiny. Leo's name is still Leo because it fits him. Leo the lion. Both kitties are so sweet and very playful with each other. Our other 3 kitties love watching them chase each other and play. I am attaching some photos of Peanut. I keep trying to catch them together but they move so fast. LOL! ~ Wendy Wayne
