Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Salem the Sweet & Mellow Cat

I've been meaning to write to you, but I've been busy and haven't been online. I'm sure you know I adopted Salem. I named her Savannah. The whole family is thrilled to have her. My dog and my cat made fast friends with her. She had a problem with bald patches when I got her. Please tell Lindsay alot of hair has grown back in already. She's a doll and a joy to have!! Thanks Carla

Sassy the Kitten

Good morning Catherine, Sassy is now Lilly Belle, of course she answers to no name. She is a sweet girl and seems to be adjusting a bit more each day. She and Zaffy are not friends yet but just this morning were about 4 inches apart without hissing. She is energetic and plays alot. She did not eat the first day but now she is eating everything in sight. We went to the vet yesterday so everyone is up to date on shots but she has to go back in 3 weeks for Feline Leukemia second shot. She weighs 4.5 pounds. I am attaching some pictures and will let you know when they make friends enough to play together. Thanks, Lorna

Sully the Kitten

Hi Catherine! Thanks for checking in. The artist formally known as Sully (now known as Mila) is settled in just fine. She is a wonderful little cat and is finally starting to play with our Pomeranian and they are fast becoming friends. She is very curious and outgoing but she is super sweet and everyone that meets her loves her, as do we. Thanks again for everything and we will definitely recommend your organization to anyone looking to adopt an animal. The process was great. Here are some recent pictures for you!

Sky the Grey-Blue Puppy

We've had a busy summer traveling to our 26 acre staycation home in TN. But it has been delightful. I'm attaching a few pics. As you can see she has grown up considerably. She chased deer, bluebirds, and went blackberry picking with us. She picked her own berries, too. She is so loving and very smart. We call her the love sponge because she can't get enough of her people. We are continuing to work on obedience which is fairly easy since she loves to please. We can't imagine life without our Skye. However, she's definitely "Daddy's girl." LOL. We were glad she made is come in for nap time in the outrageous heatwave. She has several nicknames - Siesta Susie, Trunk Monkey, The Shadow, and Runway Model. She helped us enclose and screen a new back porch at the barn. We plan to go back north for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope to experience her first snow.

Skyler the One-Eye Puggle

Skyler is a sweet little man. He was in the backyard not 30 seconds when he began doing huge Pug circles. It was so gratifying to see how he relished in the freedom of a good Pug circle. He and Missy, my other Pug, are already getting along well and are snuggling together for naps. At night he sleeps in the bed with me, curled up in a little ball. He settles right down and does not move until I get up. We are working on eating with others around and at set times during the day. We are making a lot of progress and he is a very fast learner. Skyler is still a little rough when playing and is a toy lover and destroyer. He has taken every toy out of the basket and carried them through out the house. The floor is littered with toys as he goes to search out the next one to carry around. He has also found the squeakers and the stuffing in a few :) I am so glad that Skyler came into my life. I am still hurting from the loss of my Wilson, but in getting to know Skyler and watch him blossom, I feel like Wilson's passing was his way of helping the next one-eyed Pug learn what life can be like in a home where there is constant love and affection and an endless supply of squeaky toys.
