Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Rosie the Rottweiler
Rosie the Rottweiler

My husband and I are no doubt animal lovers-we already had 2 dogs (Grady-yellow lab and Chance -Border Collie) and one cat (Kobe) when Rosie entered our hearts. We wanted to "help out" so we decided to become foster parents and take in another dog. Well, we went to Judy's and actually wanted to meet Maxine but she was out at the adoption day so we walked around back and saw Rosie. I looked at her and she looked at me and I immediately had to open the kennel and gave her a big hug! She was so sweet and gentle! The next night we brought Chance and Grady to Judy's to make sure that they would get along with their foster sister and they did so we brought her home. Well, of course as I could have predicted I was immediately attached to Rosie. She was sweet and gentle and house trained and crate trained and of course gorgeous. So a few weeks went by and we got THE CALL. Maggie wanted us to bring Rosie to a meet and greet with someone who was interested in adopting her. Well, needless to say, there was NO way we could let Rosie go, so we adopted her and I think I speak for Rosie too when I say we can't imagine life without each other-she has given as much joy as I hope we give to her! ~ Sabine S.

Happy Holidays to you. Rico is absolutely wonderful. He has put on a little bit of weight and looks great. He is right at home now and runs to answer the doorbell when it rings. He plays ball with us in the yard everyday and also enjoys his walks to the park. He is well behaved (but loves sleeping on the sofa) and is a welcome addition to our family. Thank you so much for introducing us. Barbara

Roslie the Puppy

Good Evening, My name is Chandra Hefflefinger and my husband and I adopted Roslie 12/21/08. We did rename her Summer though. We brought our two Siberian Huskies (Sunny and Storm) to Petsmart to meet her after we fell in love with her. They liked her too and we took her home. I did not see on the website where to send some updated pictures of her. I wanted to let someone know that she is doing great and that she is very happy in her new home and is just as spoiled as our other two. She keeps the two Siberians on their toes, which is great! She had a little cough when we brought her home 12/21/08 but we took her to our vet 12/26/08 and he gave her an antibiotic and she is fine now. He has given her a clean bill of health. Our vet knows us very well as one of our Huskies is a diabetic. As you can see from the pictures she has plenty of toys, and will be treated well!! She has even gained a little weight, the vet said she was a little too skinny. I do not know if she was housebroken when we adopted her 12/21/08, as we did not ask, but she has not even had one accident in the house. She even enjoyed a trip to the dog park last weekend - she is no longer shy and submissive at all. She is a great dog!! Please let PRBJ know that we are so glad that we were able to give this wonderful dog a good home and that she was rescued from a kill shelter. We are truly enjoying this new addition to our family. Thanks,Chandra Hefflefinger
