Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Rebbie

Hello, my name is Caitlin and I adopted Rebbie last month. I wasn't sure how to go about this but I wanted to give you all an update on my adorable new baby! He has completely settled in nicely and is so comfortable with his new home. I've decided to rename him Mack because if you lay on the ground he will come up and head butt you (so cute but it can be forceful at times!) and he sort of reminded everyone that met him of a Mack truck. He loves to explore everything and is very curious. He's put on 2 pounds since I got him and looks great! His first vet visit was a success and everything went smoothly. He is a perfect fit into my life and I love him so much already! Of all the toys i've spent money on he seems to love a wadded up piece of paper or a string the most, go figure!! Anyways, I just wanted to thank you all for allowing me to adopt such a wonderful kitty and to give you all an update on how perfectly he has fit in! :) Thank you!!!! Caitlin Bernier

Ranger
Ranger

I wanted to give you an update on Ranger... now Buddy. He's so great. He's really getting adjusted to his new home. We have a fenced yard, and at first, he was a little aprehensive about going out alone. He's starting to really enjoy it. He's great in the house, although he tears up his toys, grabs one of my shoes or an article of my clothing once in awhile (but never does harm to them) and this morning he took a sip of my coffee that was sitting on the coffee table. These are the worse things he's done... he's really an angel. I have no complaints! He has access to entire house whether I'm home or not. When I'm at work, he usually spends time in my spare bedroom, on the futon, where the window is real low and he can see outside. I have a crate set up in the living room, which he never goes in, (I'm getting ready to take it down) but he likes to lay under the coffee table or at my feet when we're in the living room. He did manage to run out the front door when the pizza guy came the other day, but made it only next door to meet and visit with my neighbors. Now I'm very careful of opening the front door! He loves to walk around the neighborhood and walks great. He likes to go for rides, we went to Pet Supermarket last weekend and he was very hehaved! He loves people and other dogs, but he's not too fond of kitties. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to have another "Buddy" in my life. ~Lana L.

Rocco the Soccer Playing Basset
Rocco the Soccer Playing Basset

Just wanted to let you know Rocco is adjusting very well to his new home and we have fallen in love w/him. He has taken over my husband's recliner chair. At night he sleeps there or at the foot of our bed or our son's. He is still getting to know the neighbors and their dogs. The first 2 days he didn't seem to want to eat but now he eats all of his food and is fed twice a day. I bought him a soccer ball and we play sometimes with that. I got him a few other toys and he tends to hide them. One night I went to bed and laid down on something hard. He hid a rawhide bone under the covers. He likes walking on the beach but not going into the ocean. I will try to send some pics. Best regards, Mary

Rally

He chose to sleep on my bed with me from the very first night which delights me to no end.A beautiful cat for sure. Thank you, Lauretta
