Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Hi Yvette, I just wanted to thank you again for everything! We have our new baby and are on our way home with him. He is sound asleep on my lap, sooo very precious!! We got to meet his foster mom Jennifer & her daughter and they are very special people. Thank you again for helping to bring such a beautiful new addition to our family . Warmest regards Patti

We have rename Prince to Chubby, as he is a bit on the chubby side and it fits him. He’s doing great so far, and we are learning about each other. I had to give him a bath first thing, but he took it well and he smells and looks much better. He seemed to enjoy the freedom of running through the house and the yard, but has been reluctant to let us out of his sight – as if he fears he might be left again. Other than that he seems to be adjusting well. He has his first vet appointment this afternoon. We are concerned about his eyes, which seem red and maybe infected. He also has some bad places on his skin that need looked at, but other than that seems generally healthy. He’s lively and bright and my husband has given him two walks already, which he seems to love. I think we are going to get along just fine. He’s well house-broken and we did not worry about him too much last night, and did not put him in a kennel. It just didn’t seem the right thing to do, and he did just fine and slept through the night with no problems. I don’t foresee any problems at this point. Thanks for rescuing him, and we will take good care of him. I’ve attached some pictures for you. Paula

Jake is awesome! He is doing great! He went to the vet today and they all fell in love with him. We are blessed!

Petey the Senior JRT Blend
Petey the Senior JRT Blend

We adopted Petey (the Jack Russell Mix) maybe 6 weeks ago. I wanted a senior dog and my husband wanted a male dog (we also have two rescued female bull mastiffs). When we brought Petey home that Saturday, I really wasn’t sure if this was the right decision. He was so scared, trembling, and so much smaller than my other dogs. But a day passed, and that was all it took. He fits perfectly with the girls (actually goes hunting lizards in the bag yard with Sugar my 95 lbs bullmastiff), sleeps on the bed with the crew, and is just a loving machine. Please thank the nice lady who fostered him, she did such a great job! Attached are some pictures…Perhaps you can post them in your success story folder. Thank you for all you do! Catherine

Prince the Retriever Blend Puppy

Hi Yvette! Just wanted to write a quick note and say how much fun Samson and I are having together! He's growing SO fast, but he'll always be my puppy. He loves chasing sticks, and he gets along GREAT with other dogs. His favorite buddy is "Bear", a St. Bernard we met at the dog park. He and Samson are the same age, and love to play tag and wrestle. Thanks so much again for bringing us together! -- Mike
