Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Marissa the Doberman
Marissa the Doberman

We just wanted to say thank you & send a picture of the 2 love bugs, Chereokee & Marissa! They are 2 chacters & very sweet, but they are very capable of covering up for each other! We have never laughed so hard as when we catch one doing something wrong while the other tries to cover it up. Marissa was hunting the trash can one night and my husband caught the sound and went to investigate, cheerokee blocked him from entering the kitchen, by acting as though he wanted to play, and gave Marissa a chance to run around to the other room to act as though nothing was amiss, while finding a fast food bag on the floor- it was worth the laugh and she has not attempted it again. They are the most wonderful lovers and only require 100 percent attention and they think they are lap dogs! Chereokee thinks nothing of climbing on my lap, all 67 pounds of him! Thanks again Love, Misty, Edward, Marissa, Cheerokee & Anastasia Rae (our daughter) Klish!

Amanda, Murdoc is doing great, he listens well and gets along good with the cats and just loves to play with Shasta. He is doing good in his crate while we are at work, Sherri has been coming home during her lunch to check on him. We have been walking him and he is good on a leash. We will send some pics soon. George

Missy the Gray Kitten

Attached are picutes of Missy now fondly called Nola. She loves her new home and we love her. Even our older cat Dolly seems to be tolerating her! Thanks so much for all you do for these animals. ~ Pam R.

Mai Tai the Bat Cat
Mai Tai the Bat Cat

Hello. I wanted to give you a quick update on MaiTai. He has adapted very well to our household. We renamed MaiTai Xander when he came home with us. Our cat Alex who is 11 has had a renewed energy and they wrestle daily. Xander also enjoys playing with the dog which is a mix of chase, hide and go seek and nibbling. Xander is fascinated by everything and afraid of nothing. He loves to fetch and if he doesn't have a fetch toy he tends to hunt and bring an assortment of items to you while you are sleeping. Last night it was the dogs toothbrush. And oh yes I can't forget, he has not lost the trait that got him the 'bat cat' nickname. Usually I see it coming but every once in awhile he gets me from behind and surprises me. He is so gentle though and never uses his claws when jumping or playing with us. Everyday is a new adventure with Xander. ~ Jeff and Heather

Mystique
Mystique

"Mystique" (the black cat) came into our home as a foster cat. Our resident 4-year-old Maine Coon mix, Fletch (the orange cat), had just completed hip surgery and though I was nervous about bringing another cat in, I knew Mystique needed a home to hang out in for a while. I brought him home about three weeks after Fletch's surgery and these two bonded. For a few months, Fletch laid low and these two enjoyed sniffing each other. Right off the bat, we could tell Mystique was "Mr. Personality" and we adopted him and changed his name to Oliver "Ollie" Mystique. As Fletch gained strength in his hips, he got more playful and the two boys began to gently wrestle each other a few times a day. Fletch wrestles from the ground position since he has weak hips, and Ollie jumps around him from side to side. Shortly thereafter, they began napping together which just about brought tears to my eyes! Now, they even groom each other. The funniest thing is when Fletch wraps his big orange paw around Ollie's neck and licks his head and ears. Ollie eats it up, patiently allowing Fletch to care for him. We are so happy that we opened our home and our hearts to little Ollie. We truly enjoy watching the interaction between these cats--at the end of a long work day, they give us so many laughs and enrich our lives. ~ Sheri and Tom
