Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Max the Dobie
Max the Dobie

I wanted to let you know that Max has found his place in our pack. In less than a week, he has curbed his urge to show his teeth and snap. Everyone here has made it clear to him that kind of behavior won't work well for him ...so he left that behind. He is down to a light growl (in protest)... he learns very quickly (he hasn't had the muzzle on in days)! Max is an avid lizard hunter. He wakes me at 6am EVERY morning to go hunting! He also likes the pool. The feeling of being in water is something I believe he is going to explore more of. He is always going for a walk with someone around here and is happy to go... Walking with him is pleasurable, as he doesn't pull, he glides with you! He has charmed the ladies (Nikki & Whiskey) and shares food and water with them (like such a gentleman). He has done all of this in 4 days! Max knows he is in the right place and tries hard to show that he is eager to learn. He is so smart and picks things up quickly. He is very affectionate (when he wants to be) but when he needs his space he lets you know with a growl (not a nip). He is a very happy puppy. Our vet will meet him and look him over Friday. We will keep you posted and send some pics soon. Thanks Again! Shaun S

Money Pitt
Money Pitt

To everyone at PRBJ, especially Diana, my adoption coordinator, I want to say thank you for the wonderful new friend you have given me. I adopted Money Pitt (now Bailey) last week, and he is amazing. Playful, curious, and sweet, he sleeps with me at night and plays with my other cat during the day. He's a little brat, but with his adorable looks, I would be too! Thank you again for my little friend, and I'll keep in touch! ~ Angela

Moreland the Boxer
Moreland the Boxer

We are the new parents of Morreland the boxer rescued from a high kill shelter in Georgia. We adpoted him at the beginning of June. He is LOVING his new home and new brother Moose. It was a little bit of a rough start, but now they are inseparable. They are always playing and racing around the back yard. We couldn't be more happy to have him in our family. ~ Corinne & Nick

Max
Max

When I first saw Max was was an extremely scared dog. So frightened that a girl was sitting inside his crate with him. I knew I had to give him a home. For a while he hid under tables and behind furniture until he slowly became comfortable in his new environment. He's come a long way since I first adopted him. He is still a bit anxious around strangers, but is incredibly friendly with other dogs. He enjoys long walks around the lake in my neighborhood. People often stop and ask about him because of his devastatingly handsome looks! He is very playful and loves to cuddle on the couch. He's a loving and loyal companion Thanks, Judy! Jennifer L.

I've attached a photo of "Maverick" renamed "Pumpkin" with his new boy, Jack, who is 5 1/2 and loving every minute with this sweet kitty. ~Jeannie Clarke
