Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Marvin the Eskimo Kiss Kitten

Hello Jennifer! We wanted to send you an update on Marvin and let you know how well he is doing since adopting him last Sunday at the Oviedo Mall location. Marvin came home to another cat, Callie - 2years old, and a dog, Onyx - 11 years old. He has adjusted to his new home very well. He and Callie are still working things out but each day is better and they are sharing a few things now that they didn't when he first got home. Callie has a couple of locations in the house that she has deemed hers and lets Marvin know that but he seems to be ok with that. Marvin and Onyx have really gotten along well. Onyx has been so gentle with him and has made no attempts to make him feel unwanted. Onyx has layed very still to let Marvin come up and explore her and smell her to see whats she is and all about. Marvin is more scared of Onyx's size I think because he is so tiny. The other day he walked up to Onyx while she was sleeping to smell Onyx's tail and Onyx noticed he was there so she would slowly wag her tail and Marvin would start playing with it like it was a toy, this was so cute. Marvin is a lap cat. He loves to sleep and curl up on you but he doesn't like to be held for very long because he may miss something. He is all boy, play play play. He has been a joy and a perfect fit to our family. We took him to the vets yesterday and he got a good bill of health. He weighs 4lbs and 14ozs. The vet was very impressed with how friendly he was. We gave him a bath the other night and he didn't cry at all he went through the whole process without a peep, I couldn't believe how tolerable he was of the bath thing. The bath helped our other cat settle down because he only smelled like us and our house versus other animals and scents she was not familiar with. I'm attaching some pictures to show you how he is doing. We are so thankful that Marvin has come into our family and how well he has adjusted. He says thank you to Jennifer for taking good care of me so (this family) could find me, really he said that because he is laying right next to me watching me type this email. Thank you all for the wonderful work you do and thank you for helping us find Marvin. Much Love, Denise, Roger, Stephen, Onyx, Callie, and Marvin

Muffin the Gray Tortie LoveBug

Muffin and Shelby are doing well. They are adjusting very well. Shelby loves to play with the male kitty (Smokey). We have a long hallway in our home and they play runway kitties everyday, it is too funny. Muffin is well too. She found my basket by the sliding glass door her favorite spot. She has a nice little blanket in there and she loves to watch the squirrels and birds. We also have a sliding glass door in dining room and when she gets excited she runs from door to door. She is so sweet. My yorkies are getting along well with both of them. Muffin likes to try and clean the male yorkie while he is sleeping, he tolerates it well. The female yorkie is hyper and alpha all the way. When she comes in from outside in the morning, both Shelby and Smokey hit her on the bottom as she comes in, very entertaining. We are so pleased to have them both join our family! I can not tell you how happy they seem and how happy we are to have them. You all are saints with PRBJ! God Bless you all!

Maddox the Kitten

Maddox is doing wonderful & we are so happy to have him in our family! He is such a lovable kitten and he & Rascal (our yellow lab) are starting to become friends even though Maddox still hisses but not a much! He is very playful, loves on everyone and fitting in great!! He wears a pretty blue collar with a bell so we know where he’s at!!

Mimosa the Gentle Kitten

Dear Catherine, It's been almost two months since the little orange tabby formerly known as Mimosa came to live with me... and I couldn't be happier! There are no words to describe how awesome little Calvin is. From his sweet spirit to following me around the house to cuddling and purring like crazy, he is an instant hit in the family. As the fates would have it, when I saw my vet for Calvin's intake and shots, we discovered that my 16 year-old PRBJ kitty, Shalimar, was dying of liver failure. What a heartbreaking and unexpected shock to be so happy on the one hand and so sad on the other. Calvin was a delight to Shalimar in her final weeks and kept her company with kind snuggles. Shalimar passed three weeks ago. Lily and Bailey, my other two PRBJ adoptees are thriving along with Calvin and everyone gets along. Calvin is still learning his role in the household but it is clear that everyone lives in harmony. It's especially cute at dinner time, as the three of them sit around the food bowl so politely taking turns eating, with no fussing or disagreements whatsoever. Just wanted to give you an update and also ask if you could pass it along to Mimosa's former foster mom and dad. I had hoped to hear from one of them to exchange pictures and would still very much like to be in touch with them if they are willing. Kind regards, Amanda
