Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Lucky
Lucky

Judy, Please see attached photos of Lucky (now Morgan). On the first one Morgan is asleep on the couch (of course!) On the second picture, Morgan is on his bunk-bed (which I built for them) with his friend Adhara. They have much fun playing together when we enjoy watching them. Adhara was adopted from Orange County in January 2000. Thanks again ~ Kalina and Andy W.

Luke
Luke

I was reviewing your website and you wanted to hear from families who have adopted from you. WHAT AN ANGEL I HAVE. I adopted Luke - formerly Utah and he is a mama's boy and I love him sooooo much. His profile said he may have experienced a seizure. That did not matter to me, I fell in love with him! He had three mild seizures initially and has been seizure free for 18 months . THANK YOU FOR MY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~ Lori M.

Laurel
Laurel

We adopted Laurel (now Maverick) as in the Laurel and Hardy. Maverick is doing SO much better than when we first brought him home. He's about the graduate the beginner training class at Petsmart and has really coming a long way training wise. He knows how to sit, stay, lay down, shake, heel, and properly loose leash walk. We have spent time working with him each time and he responds very well to training. He has a doggy door to come and go into the fenced back yard as he pleases. He loves to watch for raccoons in the backyard and then slowly creep out the doggy door to chase them out of the back yard. He did get into trouble digging up some lilies about a month ago, but that's the only thing he's done. We also take him to GODOGS (doggy daycare) one day a week here in Oviedo. He does so well playing with the other dogs and we think this is an excellent outlet for him. We walk him twice a day, 45 min each time and a few times a week he has "play dates" with dog friends in our neighborhood. He's such a wonderful dog and we love having him as part of our family. My family lives in Sarasota and we have taken him on two trips there already. I think it helped him know that home is our house with us and he did really well at Grandma and Grandpa's too. He played well with all the cows! He laid on his back and all three cows, came up, sniffed him and wanted to play. He really does well with all types of animals that he's met so far, even cats and ferrets. Thanks for your time and all you do for our furry friends. - Kristi B.

Little Angel
Little Angel

I have officially adopted "Angel" as of Aug 1. All is going well. She and "Mom Pebbles" are really bonding and appears to be over her cold. Angel is quite a character & Pebbles has started barking at times to let me know when Angel is doing something she shouldn't. Angel is still going behind furniture and doing her business after just going out side!! I got her a litter box and she is using it in the early am & hoping this will help for those rainy days when she can't get out. This potty training is always the hardiest part. Otherwise she has been doing well with other training... come, sit, lift and down...the stay part is going to require a lot more work. We took the girls to the event with Judy at the Paw Park Place. They both enjoyed shopping & bought a pr. of sun goggles. They are so Cute & cool now. Ha. Ha. They had a ball at the event Playing & socializing. They were so tired at the end of the day & next they just wanted to lay around and sleep. Thank Goodness!!! Angel just loves exploring outdoors & has made a lot of new doggy friends her size. She especially loves going to "Pookies" and they love her. The cookie baker climbed up on the counter just to see what everyone was talking to on the floor!!! ~ Sue W.
