Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Kerry the Fantastic Kitten

I am so glad I decided to take Kerry and Dublin home. They are lovers. When my husband came home Kerry kissed his nose and Dublin rubbed all over his face. He was smitten with them. They are purr machines and purr whenever someone is around. Dublin tucked himself into my husband stomach when he laid on the bed and purred contendedly. We just love them. We have not introduced them to our other cats or dogs as yet and we are keeping them in the master bedroom. They immediately found the scratching post we keep in there and are having a ball. We only put them in their cage while we went to dinner and have left them to roam freely to get acquainted with the house and other animal smells. They will be in there at least a week before we begin introductions or until someone shows interest by paws under the door. They are wonderful, and whoever fosted them did an excellent job. Even in the car on the way home they were sticking their paws out of the cage for my attention. I could not be happier with them. My trepedation has completely disappeared. I will make a vet appoint for them for Tuesday if possible and have them checked out, although they are healthy little guys. I will keep you updated as to how they are doing. The work you guys do is wonderful and helping a lot of pets find loving homes. Its wonderful. I will keep in touch, have a wonderful weekend. Again thank you for the wonderful boys.

Kenji

Judy-- I just want to update you on how my best friend Kenji is doing. I adopted him a little over a year ago. It took some time before he would trust us since he did have some prior trauma in his life. I attach three photos. One is of Kenji as we got him...His right front leg was a mess and could not support his weight...We found that out last Christmas Eve when he jumped off the couch and sprained his left leg.....He was unable to support himself on his right leg and he fell flat on his face when he tried to walk. So we spent Christmas Eve at the ER. Fortunately he got well very quickly. But we decided something had to be done. We ended up taking him to University of Florida where Dr. Lewis worked a miracle. One of the photos shows the fixator device pinned to the poor guy's leg. Last pic shows how good his leg looks now. My wife and I both thank God that we had the means to pay for this surgery. Kenji is the best dog I have ever owned. He was so good when we had to do his physical therapy three times a day for about three months. Like I said, he only drew blood once when we worked it a little too hard one time..Now, more than ever, he loves to run and chase squirrels and such (although he never catches any). I have long standing PTSD (My VA pension paid for Kenji's surgery) and Kenji is a perfect companion for me..With his past traumas i think we kinda understand one another. thanks for letting us adopt him. David and Suzanne

Kaiden the LoveBug Burmese Kitten

Catherine, Hiyas...Just wanted to drop you and Kieth a few lines to let you know that the two are doing wonderful. They are eating, drinking, peeing and pooping already in their new home...lol. The two are super affectionate and chirping to us. Both are giving us kisses and lots of sugar...especially Kaiden. Matilda is just simply a love bug :) I will take a few photos Thursday evening and send them over. Take care and will talk to you soon, Bill & Mel

Kaitlyn the St. Patrick's Day Pup

I just wanted to say thank you for helping me meet the most wonderful pup in the world. I brought home Kaitlyn in April when she was just a little thing. I renamed her Kenya (I have a work acquaintance named Kaitlyn and thought that might be odd), but other than that, she's the same sweet girl I met the day I brought her home. She's just celebrated her six month birthday, and she's a whopping 45 lbs now. She loves the dog park more than anything, and we go there about three times a week--swimming, digging, and getting dirty are her favorite activities! She is just such a joy--well behaved, friendly, and such great company. I'm so glad I brought her into my life. I've attached two pictures! Thanks again, Rachel

Koda the Collie

Judy & Friends, Nearly two years ago, thanks to Pet Rescue by Judy, we were introduced to the love of our lives. His name is Duke and he is a collie/Rottweiler mix with the biggest heart and love for adventure and fun! We take him to almost anything that allows pets and he has developed into such a sweet, obedient, good natured dog. We cannot believe we ever lived without him! It is all thanks to Judy, her organization, and his foster parents-Annette (and family), that we have this amazing companion in our home. We recently considered volunteering Duke as a therapy dog because of his affection for humans and loving personality. We hope that in the near future he will be able to become a licensed therapy dog and pass on the love for life that he instills and has given to us! Thank you, thank you to all who helped bring Duke into our lives! We are forever grateful and will never forget Pet Rescue by Judy!! Erin & Vince :))
