Fergie the Chihuahua
Fergie here. Just wanted to update you on my living situation.
I can't believe it has been 4 months since I left my foster mom. (Please tell her hello & I miss her and that I'm very well loved in my forever home.)
I am soooo spoiled. I am the queen of all the dogs and I tell everyone what to do. I play with my little brother Leo when I want to and snap at him when I'm tired.
I'm finally getting the hang of doing my business outside like the other dogs. Grandma was very mad for a while about this, but she sees improvement in me. Lucky for me that the Vet was on my side and said my breed is hard to break - he really likes me!
I'm still working once a week at the Retirement Homes. I'd like to work more, but Grandma says that everyone gets a turn to go make people happy and I am only third on the list of therapy dogs in the house.
I think this arrangement is gonna work out pretty well, especially since they do everything I want.
Thank you again for all your help and I'll try to stay out of trouble!
Gotta run and terrorize something or some one.
Hugs, Fergie the Fearless!
Fauna the Cocker
Hello Yvette and Judy,
Latest news on Fauna, renamed Jolie (which means “Pretty” in French”:
I’m so glad I was impatient and took her home as she was still sick.
It only took her 1 day of full playtime with a bunch of kids outdoor to recover her cold.
She’s healthy and loaded with energy.
I had to take her to the vet to treat her for ring worms.
We started this week end private training with her; she’s extremely bright and catches new information right on the spot.
Jolie is not a cocker Spaniel, but close to a full breed of “ Brittany Spaniel”.
Our small dog starts to get along with her and excuse her excessive puppiness.
She’s into everything l all time; she dials the phone and run away with it; redecorate the house with toilet paper , and has a particular likeness in chewing pen and pencils.
That little girl wants fun and we take pleasure watching her.
She’s very agile as she’s close catching freebies on the fly!
Jolie is never alone; she’s with me all day and goes on long walks twice/day. Kids can never wait playing with her as soon as they return from school.
We are very happy with our new addition to our family.
Thank you for your efforts in giving a new chance to those great animals!!
Regards,
Gisele
Figaro the Sweet, Big Boy (Video)
Hello and Happy New Year to Pet Rescue by Judy!! We are so grateful for our most recent addition. It's been almost six months since we adopted Griffin (aka Figaro) from PRBJ. We are happy to report that he's been spoiled since the day he walked into our home along with our resident cat, Phoenix. Griffin enjoys eating, playing and sun-bathing in the screened-in back porch as often as he can. He has become very attached to my husband and I and will often be at our side throughout the day. Lately he and Phoenix have been enjoying chasing each other around the Christmas tree. Griffin is definitely a "gentle giant" who enjoys human company and affection. We are so happy with the outcome and love our most recent addition. He's such a gentle and loving kitty. Thank you for all that you do! I have attached a photo of our big guy relaxing on the couch and another of he and Phoenix looking outside for lizards. Erica
Freddy the Basenji
THANKS!!! Freddy has been an absolute angel at home. So well mannered. He like to take the occasional shoe or sock when we're not looking, but what dog doesn't! He seemed very anxious the first day, but has warmed up quite a bit since then. we've been taking him for walks and introduced him to our friends dog - they're becoming fast friends.
Thanks again for all the help. You and the rest of the PRBJ staff were great.
Have a good one!

Francois the Poodle
Dear PRBJ,
Here is an update on our adoption of Francois the Poodle, for your Success Story web page, if you wish. I have also attached a recent photo.
Francois the Poodle
We adopted Francois, a medium size Poodle mix, in December, 2008, renaming him Pascal (after the French philosopher). Pascal came to us perfectly house and crate trained, and bonded with us very quickly. From the beginning, he behaved well in our house and yard. But there were some rough patches in the early months, especially on walks, when Pascal's anxieties and fears led him to bark and lunge at cars, bicycles, children and other dogs. We started using the Gentle Leader, and Stuart worked patiently with him, using clicker training and rewards. After a few months, Pascal calmed down and learned good walking behavior. Now he thinks that a noisy passing car or a bicycle flashing by means he should sit and get a treat. The lesson to be learned is that sometimes it may take time and patience for a rescued dog to feel calm and secure in his new environment.
We went to a Basic Manners course, where Pascal learned come, sit, down and stay. He has learned how to be good at the vet, at the groomer, and at the kennel. Now that he is secure and sure that he is safe, he loves to go on walks, run at the dog park, play with the dog next door, jump through a hoop, shake hands, and to go on trips with us. He enjoys human and dog visitors, but thinks that his basic job in life is to stay beside Stuart. Each day, he brings joy to our home and our lives. Thanks to everyone at PRBJ!
