Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Forsythe the Yellow Lab

Hi Colleen Ben is doing great. It’s wonderful seeing him happier and more at home with us as each day passes. I think he is also very very happy to be without his cast! His leg is still a little weak and wobbly and he limps a bit but the vet tells us in 4 weeks or so he should be able to run and jump and play just like any other puppy. We still have to walk him in the yard only the leash, he can’t run free yet, but he does enjoy sniffing around and exploring. It is very funny how the limp seems much more pronounced when it is wet and raining and he has been napping on his bed compared to 5 minutes later when we’re outside, he spots a lizard and he is walking beautifully and tugging at the leash! He is wonderful dog, we love him dearly. Thanks! Adam and Ann

Frost the Lab Puppy
Frost the Lab Puppy

Dear Yvette, Thank you for the follow up. Well, the meet could not have gone any better and Frost made it to our house the same day :) she has been here since Saturday and has been doing great. I did buy the crate even though I never needed one before, but I just don't want her to hurt herself if we are sleeping or not at home. She has alot to learn, but she is as sweet as can be and just won't leave my side :) She has her first vet appointment today and I'm hoping for a great outcome. Also, I changed her name to Lilly, it just suits her so much better ;) Thank you so much helping us adopt Lilly :) Best wishes, Sonja

Firefly the Kitten
Firefly the Kitten

It has been a week since we adopted Firefly the kitten to our household of one 10yr old and two 2 1/2 year olds. The first three days were rather unnerving seeing our three cats uncomfortable in their own home. They would walk around nervously because they smelled something different in the house. They are back to walking around like normal. Our 10 year old cat ,named Tabby, now just watches Firefly with an --I don't care attitude---but we believe she secretly wants to take Firefly under her paw and give her some elderly advice. Give it another day or so. Gray, one of our 2 1/2 year olds is only occasionally hissing at Firefly, has touched noses a few times and has sat close together. Eventually they will become close friends. However our other 2/1/2 year old Pumpkin is another subject. She has hissed the most---she is our most friendly cat and we thought they would have taken to each other without a problem. It's all a show with Pumpkin, she will be close to Firefly just watching her and secretly wanting to play and then suddenly she realizes----I'm supposed to be made at you and hisses. Both are pure black and pretty soon they will be playing tricks on us as to--- who is who. But from day one Firefly took over the house, found two places to explore that assistance was needed to get back out of---we would have bet that nothing could have gotten under there---but we were wrong. When anyone would hiss at her she just walked away with this----WHATEVER attitude MEOWING under her breath ---- I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE. She has learned to use the cat door so she can go out onto the screened porch and back. We feel all of this is normal behavior and each day gets better and better. They make us laugh and we return with love. Kathy and Gary

Fletcher the Bulldog
Fletcher the Bulldog

Hello! I just wanted to touch base with you on how well Fletch has fit onto our family. We can't imagine not having him in our lives. Here's a few photos for you and thank you again for introducing us to him! Yes, he can be a bit mischievous but is so smart! Here he is laying on the sofa, knowing good and well he wasn't supposed to be up there :) He also loves to be lazy!!!!!! And lastly, he enjoys sleepiness with the girls! Fits right in. Ashley
