Cleopatra ~ DECLAWED
For some, the decision to add a family pet to a household is a quick and
easy one. For my boyfriend and I, it was a decision we spent a lot of time
on. The choices for a desperate pet in need of a good home were
endless—we
were shocked to hear that over 20,000 homeless pets were euthanized each
year in Orange County alone. Through online searches, we found Pet Rescue
By
Judy and our Cleopatra. We were deeply touched by Cleo's story of being
passed from home to home, inhumanly declawed as an adult cat and given-up
for adoption twice.
Our first meeting with Cleo on the day of her adoption, 2/6/08, was nothing
short of perfection. I had prepared myself for the worst, expecting a
timid,
frightened animal. Instead, she was "talking," purring, crawling and
rubbing
all over me—not what you would expect from a traumatized cat. I was told
she
was doing so well after all of her adventures thanks to the recent time
spent with her PRBJ foster family.
Today Cleopatra, fondly known as Cleo, spends her days spying on passing
traffic from our windows, catnapping in the sun, "hunting" her mouse toys
and "talking" with her new mom and dad.
I would like to thank PRBJ volunteer, Janet, and foster mom, Melissa, for
making it possible for Cleo to become part of our new little family. Also,
thank you to Judy and everyone else at PRBJ, who help find homes for
thousands of animals in need of rescue and love.
Best Regards,

Charlie the Jack Russell
Hi Diana ~
Charlie is doing great! He and one of the cats are now great friends chasing in and out of the house. He is a great friend to me and keeps me moving when I'm home. I tried to take some pictures but he moves too fast. Hope you're still fostering. Without you, Charlie might not have me.

Carmella the Pointer
Carmella is doing wonderfully! We are totally in love with her! She is spoiled rotten with toys and attention. Right now she is learning how to walk on a leash without pulling and to go in her crate upon command. She is doing so well.
I attached some photos of our little girl. I do not have one with Robb and I together, but I will try to get one this week to send to you.
We cannot thank you and Pet Rescue by Judy enough for this wonderful little girl. Being able to see her picture and also make sure she was a good fit for us (her description and details helped tremendously) made it so easy.
I'll keep you posted!

Cindy
I went to the PetSmart on East Colonial on Saturday and met "Cindy".
She was scared and appeared to have been abused (the top of her ear
is missing).
The note on the cage said that she had some type of neurological
injury and her head tilts to the side.
Everyone else walked past her cage, I fell in love with her immediately!
I brought her home on Saturday.
She has the most amazing personality.
She is so happy to have a home and I am thankful that it is ours.
She is doing VERY well and we will take very good care of her.
I just want to thank your organization for your commitment to these
animals, and
because of you I have found a great new member to our family!
THANK YOU!

Cashew
My name is Cashew the cat and I have found my forever home. I am very happy
but quite busy training my new family. The big guy( Dad) loves me , and I
even have him trained to get me treats if I meow enough. The lady (Mom)
pets me all the time and calls me "love muffin". When I purr like a motor
boat, her heart seems to melt and she pets me even more. Is that great or
what? Their daughter is away at college but visited during the holidays
and she is great. She let me sleep in bed with her in her room and petted
me all the time while on her lap.
My new 2 year old cat sister, Velvet, is fun to play with and scare.
Velvet is deaf and I use this fact to my advantage when playing. I love to
sneak up on her and scare her. At first she hissed at me, but now, I even
sleep with her on the dining room window sill seat Mom got us. Mom says we
play really nice together and tells me that I have become quite a nice
companion to Velvet. My big brother, Patches, age 12, tolerates me, but I
think over time the old coot will love me. Patches has stopped hissing at
me, and started grooming me like the big brother he is. We have come to an
understanding on sleeping in the King Size bed. He sleeps at the bottom
right and that's that! Once I figured out that fact, things got better
between us.
The family put up the Christmas tree, and I even climbed it. The ornaments
are fun to bat around, but I did get yelled out for taking the balls off
the Christmas tree. We have a pool and I able to go out on the pool
deck/lanai from the bathroom cat door and sit by the pool on the deck chairs
with Velvet. . Ah.. this is the life.
Please help Miss Judy continue to find animal forever homes. I wonder how I
was so lucky, but without Miss Judy...... I can't imagine were I would be.
Love Cashew
