Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Cabby the Shepherd
Cabby the Shepherd

Cabby is settling in very well. Even over the last few hours he has been really opening up and is showing some new play behaviors and confidence that he is in a good home and is loved. I attached some pictures I took today. Cabby is such a good boy. He has been out walking around the neighborhood several times and has also been to Petsmart. He is getting along fine with the other 2 dogs and the cats. Last night the cats were very curious and 1 hissed at him every time she saw him, but today they have all settled in together. Carson ~ Declawed
Carson ~ Declawed

Hi Stephanie & everyone at PRBJ: Just wanted to send you a quick update on 14 year old Carson, who we adopted through you on July 1st. He's doing great & settling in nicely with his new sister, our Bombay, Ruffian. He stopped hissing at us after a couple of days, but it took him nearly a week to come out of the bedroom. Then there were a few dicey moments as he forgot his bathroom manners & then decided to test his mettle chasing his new shell shocked sister - who lost 2 older, ill 'sisters' in less than 2 months. There was a whole lot of hissing going on. Shortly after he arrived, my Mom arrived for the summer & he has been sticking to her like glue, even watching the afternoon soaps with her. He has come out of his shell wonderfully & we now have 2 cats running around the house together. We keep in touch with his former Mom. She was happy to hear of his progress, but I think she still misses him. We know it was very hard for her to give him up, but we're glad that she did so through you. Here's a couple of pics. He's a ham. Regards, Terry & Janice Peek Kissimmee

Crystal
Crystal

Hello! I'm sending along a photo of myself with my beautiful, beloved dog "Dreama." She was rescued as a little tiny scared puppy (called "Crystal," at the time), back in 2001, and has been my best friend ever since. Thank you, Judy and staff, for rescuing her from Jacksonville "humane," so that she could become part of my family, and the best friend I could ask for!! :) ~ Steph S

Chloe the Applehead Siamese
Chloe the Applehead Siamese

Hello; Sorry it took me all week to get this to you. But it also gave us a week for Chole to really get acclimated. So here is a photo and a bit of info to put on the Success Story page. Here she is, Queen Chloe, on her throne. We are SO thankful that she found us! Thank you to everyone at PRBJ for taking in Chloe and giving her another chance at life!! Her name will remain Chloe as it certainly fits her. She is oh so friendly and typically comical, as Siamese usually are. Chloe is incredibly friendly, and curious, and affectionate. She still gets her wet kitty food treat at noon, just like at Judy's. But what really brings Chloe out of her room is fried chicken. As soon as you hear her Siamese, "YOWL", you know she's on her way! I hope that Chloe will be with us for a long, long time. We plan on making her life with us very special as she is so deserving. Thank you, again, to April, Stephanie, and of course Miss Judy, for bringing Chloe into our lives!! Tara Crosby

Carnie the Puppy
Carnie the Puppy

Thank you for the wonderful pet we adopted yesterday. Charlie is right at home and already loves playing with his new brothers, Mako and Patch (and my kids of course). He slept through the night and he is so mellow and laid back. He just literally hugged my neck this morning in the middle of eating his food. He was chowing down and just suddenly stopped and put both paws around my neck and just kissed me! He laid his head on my shoulder for a minute and then went back to his puppy chow. I was in tears. He is such a sweet puppy and we so appreciate all your efforts! It was an honor to actually meet "Judy" of Pet Rescue by Judy. We are already enjoying walks and play time with our newest addition. WE sort of expanded "Carnie" to "Charlie," and Charlie it is. We will be by soon with some donated items! ;) Thanks again! Wendy Evans
