Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Charlie the Adorable Kitten

The boys are doing really really well, they are way more relaxed this week now they feel a little more familiar with the new environment. They are eating and drinking well, napping a ton as babies do of course. Bo seems to have picked Matt as a favorite and sits and sleeps with him, whereas Charlie seems to be my little guy and sleeps by me the most and follows me around and loves a lot of cuddles throughout the day. Eve is the entertainment director and they seem to know its time for play when she's around. They are as cute as ever and we are just loving them more and more everyday :) I just replied to an email from Nina and I'd wanted to attach pics but I'm not sure how to do it yet on this device, I will forward them to you both this week, there's some really lovely ones in the 5000 we've probably taken. Thank you again, we are enjoying having the babies just so much, it's really changed the feel of the house, they are an absolute joy :)

Chance the Cool Kitten

Jennifer, I just wanted to give you an update on Chance, aka Hobbes. Mike has always like Calvin and Hobbes and wanted to use that name. He has gotten much more comfortable running around downstairs but hasn't quite made it to the second floor. He has eaten a few meals next to Jack and doesn't seem to be frightened off if Jack hisses or growls (which has been happening less and less). He enjoys taking naps on the coach with me and will lay on my lap at nighttime. He is very interested in our fish tanks and will lay watching them until something else sparks his attention. I've attached a few pictures of him. April

Chuck the Basset Hound
Chuck the Basset Hound

Hi Keri, Yay! We got to bring Chuck home with us today! He is so sweet and friendly and gets along great with our two other dogs. Right now he is sprawled out on the kitchen floor taking a nap before dinner. My husband loves him, too; in fact, Chuck went right to him first for a tummy rub! Thank you so much for your help with the adoption! Carol

Cypress the Beautiful Hound Mix
Cypress the Beautiful Hound Mix

Yvette, They are getting along very well. Still an occasional growl from Cy but it is usually because Lex won’t stop bugging him. He’s had a couple accidents inside (thank God for tile floors) – it’s taking him a little to get use to going potty while on the leash but we’ll get there. He definitely bonded with Teri and Jacquelyn more than me which leads me to believe that a male figure abused him at some point. I’ve attached a picture of the two of them playing. Cy will come up to Lex and then “poke” Lex in the neck or side and jump back with his Hindend in the air and his front paws on the ground. Lex doesn’t really know what to do but stare so it’s funny to watch. It reminds me of the movie Bolt from Disney where the cat is teaching Bolt how to play with the puppy; only here we don’t have the talking cat to train Lex;-) Did you register the id tag? I thought you were going to register it and send me the email but my memory isn’t what it use to be. Cy is a very good dog and he is so pretty (that’s what the girls all say). He is nervous and very jumpy but that will change as he acclimates. He came right into the house with Lex without any problems. We took him on the short leash to Pets Mart to get a muzzle, some food, and a couple other things a new addition needs. He was a bit scared of going into the door at Pets Mart but went ahead and came in. He struggled with their very waxed and polished floors and shook like a leaf but gradually calmed down. He was not nearly as cautious with people who came up to him, even men which was a nice surprise and gives us confidence that he will gain confidence when he realizes he won’t get spanked in this family! That’s the readers digest version, we bought him a pet bed last night and he slept on it on Teri’s side of the bed all night. When I wasn’t in the room he’d jump up on the bed with Teri ! Lex always sleeps on the bed at least part of the night so it’s ok and again as he warms up to me a little more I think he’ll do the same with me. Thank you for all the help and for all you’ve done for Cypress. We will absolutely do our best for him as well. Sincerely, Ron, Teri, Lex, and Cypress!

Cliff the Super Loving Kitten

I changed Cliff's name to Tucker and he and Finn are doing fantastic. I absolutely love them and they have given me tons of laughter and love. I'm attaching a couple pictures to show how much they have grown. Finn's coat feels like velvet and he is so beautiful and he just loves my dog, Cassidy. Tucker is long and thin and is such a funny little stinker. If I leave my closet door open, he likes to run in and pull blouses off of their hangers. I've been a cat owner (or rather, several cats have owned me) for many, many years and this is a first for me. LOL They did very well on their vet visit and I am very happy to have them here. I'll give Finn an extra kiss for his foster mommy.
