Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Winnie the Golden Retriever
Winnie the Golden Retriever

Hello, I wanted to share with you the success of Winnie the Golden Retriever we adopted on November 14, 2009. We did change her name to Haleakala (a volcano on Maui) and we call her Halea. She has adjusted extremely well to our home and loves our other golden retriever Jack. Yesterday, Halea completed phase I of her training school and was given her certificate of completion! She will begin phase II of training later this month. She knew not even how to sit when we got her home and now my 5 year old niece who was over last night was giving her commands and she was listening. Halea has brought much joy to our house and we can't imagine someone giving this dog up. She is very strong willed and smart and learns so quickly. My husband and I truly feel it was fate to get this dog. She came to us heartworm positive and our vet treated her within the first few weeks. He was rather kind to us and he knew we adopted her knowing she was heartworm positive so he made it very affordable to treat her. She will get follow up tests in a few months. Thank you for choosing us to give Halea a new forever home! We truly had a Golden Holiday in our house! Sincerely, Jennifer & Derek DiPasquale ps..in the picture Halea is on the right!

Ping the Handsome

She loves to play with my son and sleeps in his bed with him. Laura Lee who I renamed Sophia Loren because she was a sight when I got her. I am happy to say she is growing all her fur back and has gain weight. I just wanted to give you all good news. Thank you again for everything and about 3 or 4 years when am ready for a puppy I will be coming to you all. Here is a little photo of the the girls sitting under the Christmas tree. Thank you Wendy.

Oscar the Puppy
Oscar the Puppy

This is a long overdue email, but I thought better later, than never. Oscar, who we have renamed Ozzy, is doing so amazing and we love him so much. He has brought so much happiness into our lives. We laugh everyday because of something silly that he has done. Ozzy loves going on long runs with us everyday and he really enjoys our visits to the beach and dog parks. He has grown to become 75 pounds and he still believes that he is a lap dog. Thank you for everything that you do. We have attached a picture. If you still have records from his foster parents, would you mind sending this along to them. I am sure that they would love to receive an update. Thanks so much. Thanks, Alison F. and Sean M.

Gummy Bear the Puppy
Gummy Bear the Puppy

The pups are so sweet and SO different. Snickers (Cin Bear) is huge! He is 40 lbs. and owns our bed. He is always on his back and paws the air for attention. He does not like it when we give the other dogs attention over him. WallE (Gummy) is skin and bones. He is just 30 lbs and has more energy than the other dogs. He is the first out the door, the first up a tree and the first one back inside to see what we are doing. He grabs his leash and plays tug of war with you as you walk him – which he loves. He sleeps on his dog bed and is a really good dog. Nellie (Giselle) is the best. She is about the same weight as WallE but she is the littlest of the dogs. She loves to get up in the bed and sleep between Dave and me – head on my stomach – at least when Snickers will let her. She is well mannered – a little nervous around strangers but so sweet. Her paws are amazing. She holds your arm in her paws and will chase you and grab your ankles when you walk! Thanks again for giving them such a great start – we adore them! Amy
