The Rainbow Bridge

...Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you...
I loved you so -
'twas heaven here with you.

Guinness The St. Patrick's Day Puppy
Guinness and his friends came to us on St. Patrick's Day from a kill shelter. They were all adopted by wonderful families. We were so sad when we heard from Guinness' family today. He was bitten by a venomous snake. The vet did everything he could to try and save Guinness, but sadly, he couldn't. His people miss him very much, and so do his canine brothers Kirby (pictured here) and Xander.

Simon the Kitty
Dear Judy and Volunteers: My wonderful, precious 22-year-old kitty, Simon, departed on 8/28/13. I had him since he was 4 weeks old. He was a rescue and the vet said he would not make it through the night. With the vet's care and Simon's intuition that he would have years of unconditional love and care if he made it through, he did it. Thank you for what you do. Love, Sheila A.

Rusty the Scottish Terrier
A donation was made to us in memory of Rusty the Scottish Terrier (2007-2013), beloved member of the Goodreau family, He was bitten by a venomous snake and died from the wound. Anyone who has ever owned a Scotty knows that these dogs may be small, but they have the heart of a lion, and a deep love for their humans. Rest in Peace, Rusty.

Cora the Brindle Mama Boxer
Beautiful Cora came to our rescue with a litter of puppies. She was a wonderful mama to them. We noticed she wasn't feeling well yesterday. She also didn't want to go outside, which was unusual, because she loved going out for walks. Today, her chest suddenly swelled. Tests revealed she was in heart failure. She liked to sit in the office with the staff, and she was never any trouble. She didn't jump on the desk, or dig in the trash, or chew on papers that fell on the floor. We'll miss our Cora!

Buddy the Cat
Buddy was a rescue that came into my life 14 years ago and since that time, he became my best friend, my yard companion and hands down, the most beloved cat in the neighborhood. His tragic and unexpected loss left a huge whole in my heart and I miss him terribly every day. I miss our walks around the block and seeing him chase his baby sister around the house. She is lost without him as well. Life is not the same without that big furball around the house anymore. I greatly admire all that you do for animals and thank you for honoring my sweet angel Buddy, Amanda Mills
