Description:
Louise is a Border Collie mix looking for someone to play with. She has the energy and herding instincts that you should expect in the breed. If you have interest in agility training, she's the girl for you. Not a dog for your average couch pototo, she is perfect for the busy family. If you are a jogger or even someone who enjoys going to the dog park, you have a soul mate in Louise!

12/21 Foster Update:
She is a great little girl. She still is skittish and submissive. She comes to us, but it usually is in her own terms. She will come up and lay with me for a while, then jumps down. We're trying to teach her how to walk on a leash. She loves to go on walks, but she does pull. She has a lot of work ahead of her, but she's trying. I wonder if she was mistreated, or just never was around people. She definitely runs to the back door if anyone besides us goes near her. She does love our dog Rusty though. She follows him everywhere and mimics what he does. They play and play together.

She is house trained. She lets me know when she needs to go out and when she wants back in. When Rusty comes over to be petted, she wants to be petted at the same time. She loves to eat, she has a healthy appetite.

12/24 Foster Update:
She's doing a little better on the leash. She's still very skittish with people. She still is even with us. She still won't come to you, she has to come on her own. She doesn't come at all when called, and if there is any change at all in everything she runs from you. She loves our backyard, but boy is she a digger. She has holes everywhere. We've also learned that she is a chewer. She's chewed some ornaments, shoes, paper, etc.

But when you look at that little face, she is so sweet. She loves Rusty, she's his little shadow. The poor little thing, she must have been really mistreated at one time to be so afraid of people.

1/7 Foster Update:
This is why I love our fosters! Read the detailed insights from Kim. No way do you get this kind of understanding of a dog in a kennel situation. Thanks to Kim we understand that Louise is a loving dog who has been abused and craves a gentle hand. Here's Kim's update:
"She is a beautiful little girl. She loves her walks, she gets so excited when I tell her "where's your leash". She and Rusty head for the garage door. She just loves when there is water in the gutters along side of the street. She takes off running like crazy through them. She still does pull a lot. We're still working on it.

She doesn't appear to be afraid of other dogs. I do though highly recommend that she is placed with someone with another dog. She is very submissive and a follower. She follows Rusty around everywhere. If she sees him with a treat, then she will eat the treat. If he gets petted, then she wants petted, etc. They lay down together and sleep. She cries sometimes for him to come wherever she is and play. I think she would be terribly lonely and unhappy if she was an only pet.

She has a very healthy appetite. I think she may have a little bit of a problem with the front of her mouth. She can chew sticks, toys, anything like that, but when it comes to food she only will take small pieces. She has trouble trying to eat anything too big. I break it into small pieces for her. It's like she smacks her lips like a person, so she can't eat it properly if it's too big.

Another thing she needs is a big back yard. She loves to run. I call them "fun fits" where she just takes off and zips all thru the yard. She loves to play with toys also in the yard. She grabs them with her mouth and runs with Rusty chasing her, then they switch. She and Rusty play tug of war all the time. They are great companions. She is still a bit of a digger. My back lawn looks like swiss cheese. She also still chews things. So we keep an eye out for that. She especially loves shoes and remotes.

She still is afraid of people. She has been with us almost 4 weeks and she is still timid. She now follows me from room to room all day long, but she will not come when you call her. If I close a door behind me she cries
