Description:

January 2019 foster update:   Aggie is super sweet and loves everybody.   It has truly been a joy to foster her.   We have had fosters in and out of the house as well as our 2 dogs and she gets along with everybody (though they might get a little bit of a yip if they try to steal bed space).    She lets us know if she has to go out or come in.   We don't leave her out unsupervised and she does not take long to do her business.   She had a dental this month and her teeth are nice and shiny, though she did have 2 removed.   Aggie has a congenital defect where she has a hole in her heart and a much smaller lower jaw.    If any symptoms are noticed which might indicate her heart issues are worsening, she will need to go back on heart medications so this is something she will have to be watched for.    She is on a veterinary diet for life, k/d.  She seems to alternate as to whether she prefers the dry or the wet.    As I write this it is a chilly day and she has herself all wrapped up in a sheet on a dog bed.  She loves dog beds and the bigger and fluffier they are, the happier she is!   She does like laps too :-)     She sheds quite a bit and is mostly white so needs a family who is okay with hair on their clothes!

Aggie came to us as a stray back in 2015. She was soon after adopted by a nice family who had her for the last couple of years. Unfortunately, they are no longer able to care for her so they brought her back to us.  Here is a note from her previous parents describing her:

"She is sweet and quiet, and deserves a home, preferably with someone who's lap she can sit on and receive love all day. She would do fine in a home with cats as well. She loves to lay outside in a sunny spot to absorb the rays!

She loves to sleep in "nests" with the blankets wrapped around her. She also enjoys a pillow with a pillowcase on the floor, so she can snuggle inside.

She does not walk on a leash as she is way too slow. Her pace is that of a turtle :) She only runs when she knows food is coming!

She is very obedient and comes when you call her name PIXIE, she is just very slow. Unless,   it  is breakfast or dinner time, then she will jump up and down and spin in circles with excitement!

She needs patience and time when she is taking a bathroom break. She takes about 20-30 minutes to go. She goes on her own time.

She does not go up and down stairs, so she will need a one level home. She is not a fan of outdoor decks, so she will need to be carried across one if the time came where there was one in front  of her.

We Hope and Pray that she can be placed in a forever home with mature people who will be able to give her the things she deserves (lots of lap love and cuddles, time to do her business, and a fenced yard or screened porch for her to sunbathe). She connects to people who will hold her in their lap and pet her. She is very very loving and sweet."
