Description:
Marshall is a wonderful, handsome, friendly Rottweiler who has fallen victim of circumstances beyond his control. He has a loving family that has lost their home and had to move in with their parents. The community does not allow dogs and there is just no disguising Marshall as anything else.
They are heartbroken to be in this situation and only want to find him a new home where he will be loved and cared for. Here are a few things they have told us about him:

Marshall is a friendly, sweet, fun, loving, wants to be with people all the time rottweiler. All marshall wants to do is play with you (play with his bone, have you throw it and he will run and get it), some times he doesn't bring it back to you, he keeps it for him self to chew on. He loves to go outside for walks. He absolutly love the dog parks, loves playing with other dogs. Marshall is a very loyal dog, he will stay by your side while you are in the house, he wants to be where you are. People dog. Marshall has a good friend that is a pit bull and they would play non stop for 4-6 hours, he loves other dogs.

He is good with kids, has been with my 10 month old since birth, sees a 4 year old once a week. Does well with dogs too, but if they are aggressive to him he will defend him self. He is fine with cats.

When we take him for a walk Marshall tends to bark and pull if he sees a person or dog. He will bark or growl but means no harm, he will start to lick the dog or person once he gets up to them. He can be quite skittish, he tends to freak out a little to high pitch noises. But only for a minute then he relizes nothing is there and calms down. He is scared of a lot of things like the vacuum, swifer, balls, balloons, he just runs from them.

Marshall will sit when told (sometimes you have to tell him a couple times). We want him to have a family who likes dogs and has time to play, a fenced-in yard for him to run around it. Just to be loved, he loves that. Please don't stereotype him because he is a Rottweiler; he is not aggressive one bit. He is just a big teddy bear."

Well, I think that says it all. Marshall is a large, handsome dog who loves everyone and everything. My first dog was a Rottie mix and I know how wonderful this breed can be. Marshall is all you can ask for, and I hope you do!

*** Are you not familiar with Rottweilers? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Rottie is calm, trainable, courageous, and devoted to their owner and family. The Rottweiler is probably descended from the Italian Mastiff. During the Middle Ages, it was used as a herd dog. It was bred in the German town of Rottweil in Wurttemberg. Practically extinct in the 1800's, the breed population began a comeback in the early twentieth century due to the efforts of enthusiastic breeders centered in Stuttgart. Some of the Rottweilers talents include: tracking, herding, watchdogging, guarding, police work, carting, competitive obedience, and schutzhund.
They have a reliable temperament. Protective, he will defend his family fiercely. They require owners who can handle their massive size. The Rottie is a natural guard dog with a mellow temperament. They are highly intelligent and have proven their worth beyond question in police, military, and customs work over many centuries. This breed needs a lot of companionship and socialization to be truly happy. They can be aggressive with other dogs and should be kept on leashes in public places. Friends and relatives of the family are normally enthusiastically welcomed. Strangers can get no further than the sidewalk. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
