Foster Update:
**Roxsy is the sweetest little gal and loves to be around people. She loves to cuddle on the couch, but also loves to run around the dog park or go for long walks. Even though she's small, she's quite energetic, so she will need someone to walk her daily or maybe play catch in a backyard. Judy mentioned she would make a great agility dog and I completely agree!
**She is smart, a quick study, lightning fast and can jump almost twice her size! With some training, she may just be the next agility champ! Roxsy loves having people around and even did great with my two young boys. They could always count on puppy kisses if they got down to her level.
**Roxsy got along great with my large 100 lbs. dog and enjoyed playing tug of war with him, even if he was letting her win.
**She's completely potty trained and will usually alert by crying, rather than barking. Only time she really ever barks is when someone is at the door. She knows some basic obedience, such as sit, stay, down, and off (to get her off the couch), but needs someone that is consistent as she will try to outsmart you (especially for a seat next to you on the couch!). It only took her about 20 minutes to get the basics of heel (walking on a leash), but can still get distracted if approached by another dog. Some more practice and she will walk like a pro! Who wouldn't want to meet this sweet girl!
**Roxsy LOVES to go for car rides, she thinks they are super fun!!

Roxsy was owner surrendered to Judy through a friend of hers. She is housetrained and crate trained, likes other dogs, and does like cats and kids but she can play a bit too rough with them even though she doesn’t mean to. Her pictures make her seem much larger than she is. She is around 25 pounds and just over a year old so she shouldn’t get much bigger.
Roxsy knows some tricks and is very playful. She knows sit and stay and a little fetch. She comes when called, and, in fact, she runs at a top speed when called! She is quite a jumper. One leap brings her to over twice her height. She can go from inside the crate to the top of the crate in a split second. She is high energy and very smart so another dog would benefit her as would a fenced in yard. She loves to chew so lots of good chew toys would be great, such as Nylabones and Kongs.
Roxsy will melt your heart. She is cheerful and playful like every puppy should be, even though she has been shuffled from home to home the past few weeks. She is not only a cutie pie but also a total sweetie who make a faithful companion.
If you unthinkingly open the front door she will run out!!! Just don’t appear to chase her – stand and call her and she’ll likely come right back.
She needs to be crated when left alone so she doesn’t chew up your stuff. She enjoys crackling plastic water bottles so the soft “Bottle Buddies” would be a great toy for her as they protect her teeth and gums while she’s chewing them. Her mouth is very strong. She takes things from the kitchen table and the bathroom shelf and anywhere she likes.
I have fallen in love with Roxsy in the three weeks she was with me, but I am old and slow and find it hard to keep up with a dog her age. She will turn into a fine little pet for someone younger who likes training a smart dog and has a fenced in yard for her running needs.
Come meet this sweet girl in person and you won’t want to go home without her!
The Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous and intelligent guard dog that is very full of vitality. They are highly protective of their owners and the owner's property. It is usually very friendly, but has an uncanny ability to know when it needs to protect and when everything is okay. Excellent with children in the family, they have a high pain tolerance and will happily put up with rough child play. As with any breed, they should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. Used as all around working farm dogs, they were referred to as "the poor mans horse". They are strong and generally weigh between 40 and 70 lbs. They have a life expectancy of about 12 - 14 years.
