Isn't Linzy lovely? She is a classic example of a Tortoiseshell. Now, I have to tell you, the first time someone told me a we had gotten in a Tortoiseshell, well, I kinda was wondering what happened to the tortoise! I'm sure you know exactly what a Tortoiseshell is, but juuuuust in case you don't, let me show off for a moment. A Tortoiseshell is a referance to coloring that is the feline version of the canine brindle. Their coat is mottled, with red and black, chocolate or cinnamon but relatively little or no white markings. "Torties" are almost always female. See how smart we are now!?!
The problem with a Tortie like Linzy is that it is almost impossible to take a photo that shows the wonderful variation of colors in her coat. You have to see her in person to appreciate her beauty. And when you do, you will fall in love with her personality. This is a real sweetheart!
