Description: Janus is among a group of dogs recently brought to us from a high kill shelter in Georgia. The photo of her in the blue and yellow cement cell was taken there. Her time had run out and she was scheduled to be gassed. Gassing is against the law in most states as it is extremely painful ~ the pets die crying ~ but it is still allowed in Georgia. Horrible. Thank goodness Janus was spared such a fate. Now we need to find her a loving home!
8/23 Volunteer Update: Janus is VERY petite (maybe 20-25 lbs) what a cute dog! But energy like a jack rabbit! All over the place but super sweet!
8/26 Foster Update: Janus is a very sweet dog. Very loyal and gets along great with everyone she meets; kids, dogs, cats, whomever. She is, however, very full of energy. She loves to run, go on walks, and jump; we are working on getting her not to jump up so much, but its a process.
We are also working on getting her housebroken. We had a significant setback while Tropical Storm Fay was lingering over us, but I think she may be starting to get it.
She would do well with a family, especially one with kids because she does crave attention and children seem to be best geared to keep up with her. She does stay in her crate while we are at work and at night, but she would much prefer it if someone was home during the day. She also does very well in the car.
