Description:
Kookie is a smaller black and white kitten who came to us from a kill shelter in Georgia. He also came with a note from the person who surrendered him. Our cat care coordinator told me, "He came with a note from his previous owner and his favorite toy came with him in a little bag. I have contacted the previous owner and let her know where he is know and that we are a no-kill facility and she wrote back thanking me so much for letting her know what is happening with him. I will get a copy of her note about him to you for use in his description. He is VERY shy but comes out of hiding when he hears his name and was finally starting to eat a little tonight. She let me know that he is about 6 mos old. She shared with me how worried she was about him and she has been crying about turning him in...I did not ask why she gave him up-but I could tell she really loved this guy. I told her that she can follow him on our website and gave her our web link."
I'm glad that we were able to save this little guy. Did you know that 70% of cats turned into shelters are euthanized? Are you as horrified by that statistic as I am? Thank goodness for people like you who turn to rescues when they are considering adding a pet to their home. How about adding Kookie to yours!?!

7/11 Volunteer Update: Kookie is shy at first.. but then warms up to you. When I first approached his crate, he was hiding under his bed. I opened it and took him out and he was so happy to be in my arms. After being out and about for a while, I put him away and he was NOT happy. He cried and cried and I felt terrible. Every time I walked by, he would put his paw out trying to get my attention.

7/16 Volunteer Update: Well, tonight Kookie was NOT under his bed which made me happy. I picked him up and he immediately started purring away. He is so sweet and cuddly and just wants a loving home to call his own. He has the cutest little face and loves being pet.

7/26~Volunteer Update:
Kookie is the sweetest cat. He played with Levi, Gibson and the kittens today and was chock full of snuggles for everybody!
