Description:
Lucky was surrendered to us because his owner could no longer care for him. He is a housetrained, happy, and loves to play. He must go to a home with kids over 10. Lucky likes other dogs although he can be scared at first.

His foster has this to say about little Lucky:

Lucky has tan spots on his body and black on his ears that are just showing now that his fur is getting longer.

His is missing a bunch of front teeth so his tongue sticks out. He can eat dry food one piece at a time with his back teeth. He doesn’t grab anything with his mouth.

I am giving him ¼ can Natural Balance Chicken and Sweet Potatoes LID Grain free  2 x daily and leave small bowl of dry same food for small dogs.

Came into my home and within ½ hour knew where the back door was and was running up and down the ramp to the bed.

He does not bark much at all.

Totally housebroken and lets you know when he wants out.

Loves the fenced yard. Gets excited about the leash.

Loves car rides. Rides shotgun and lays down and sleeps as soon as you start the car.

Likes you to be in sight and follows you around but stays a foot or two away so he doesn’t get stepped on.

Sleeps on the bed and uses ramp. Whines if created. And might have some issues if left alone at home.

Loves to cuddle and does not care about daily grooming.

Are you unfamiliar with the Shih Tzu breed? Pronounced SHEET-sue, they are known as alert, spunky, happy and hardy. They are bred with an underbite which gives them a constant "smile." Traditionally, their coat is kept long, with ears blending into the body, distinct mustache, and a top knot secured with a bow. However, in our Florida climate, many are clipped short to relieve them of the heat. An alert watch dog, Shih Tzus like to bark but are usually quiet in the house. Originally from China, they were a favorite of the Imperial Chinese court and so revered that for many years after the Chinese began trading with the West, they refused to sell, or even give away, any of the little dogs. It was not until 1930 that the first pair was imported to England. The life expectancy of Shih Tzus in 16 years.
