At only one year old, Louie has had all the adventure he wants in his life. You see, he was born in a feral colony at Red Bug Park. When Animal Control was sweeping through the park scooping up all the cats, a very dear friend of ours saved Louis. And we're glad she did!
Louie has proven to be a real sweetheart. As you can imagine, he is initially cautious ( a survival trait) but then, oh my, how loving he is!!! According to his rescuer, "He loves to be petted and rubbed, especially to have his head, face, ears, neck and chin rubbed. Once you start doing that he warms up very quickly. He is starting to get used to life out of the woods and is now becoming brave enough to come out of the crate for some loving. He is still unsure about being a lap cat though. I have placed him in my lap a few times and he will stay for a few seconds but then wants to be back on the floor or in his crate rolling around looking for more loving. He is starting to figure out how to play with his kitty toys too! "
Isn't that sad, this cat has had to learn how to play! But he is truly blooming into a wonderful feline companion. If you want a great cat, and the satisfaction of knowing you have saved a life, you want to meet Louie!
6/2 Foster Update:
"Louie is definitely changing by the day. He is now totally turning into a lap cat for me. The minute I sit on the floor with him he is all over me (including my lap) for lots of loving. If I lay on the floor, next thing I know he is cuddling up to my chest for loving. He is also warming up to all sorts of people. Still a bit cautious but once someone starts rubbing his head he is your new best friend. One of Matt's buddies was over the other night and wanted to meet Louie so he went into the laundry room where Louie was perched on the window sill and had no problems letting the guy pet him. One thing he is still pretty terrified of the dogs - especially Beauregard. Don't blame him though because, at 110 pounds, Beau can just be a little too much for any cat."
