Description:

7/31/2018:  DOG FOR A DAY:   Hector went out for dog for a day today.   We were told he does love children and was well mannered with them there ages are 9 and 11 years old, he is very easy going on the leash did not pull, walked calmly.      He did enjoy the car ride.    The family will write us up an update on their day with him.  Hector was tested again on 7/30/18 and was negative for heartworms.

2018 Update:
Hector's owner was not able to keep him due to his current housing situation. He has been in foster care and behaves very well. He is totally house trained and is good with other dogs.

----
Hector is a sweet Jack mix whom was spotted running loose on I-4 by one of our volunteers. After watching several people attempt to catch him, our brave volunteer basically tackled him to the ground.

Hector loves people. He likes going for walks. He is the favorite of a couple of volunteers, because they like his playful nature. Hector has never been around children, so we don't know how he would do.

Hector is an escape artist. He's slipped out of collars before and has taken himself for a walk one day after digging under his foster's fence. The good news is that he's also a smart dog because he knew he had a good thing there and went back in less than 24 hours.  Hector is not a dog who can be unsupervised outside! He would be do best in an home with an attentive family who can give him plenty of activity.

Like many dogs in the South, Hector is heartworm positive but don't let that stop you from adopting a great dog. We are treating him with monthly heartworm preventative, our preferred method. Many heartworm positive dogs go on to lead long and healthy lives.
