Description:
Jordan is a brindle lab mix, as sweet as can be. The neighbor of one of our volunteers found this sweetheart wandering the streets. We have taken him in, cleaned him up, showered him with love, and have him all ready to go home with a wonderful family!

Update 5/27: I spent sunday at the Paw Park adoption event with Jordan. He is such a sweet loving dog. He loves to play with other dogs of all age and types and is very friend with people and children. He is very aware of his surroundings and barks when he saw approaching dogs. He loved up everyone at the event!

8/19 Foster Update:
Jordan is one of the most loving dogs I have ever met. He is so affectionate with us and loves to be with his people. He walks great on the leash and loves to travel. We have been to Lake Eola and Park Ave. and he was very friendly and social with both dogs and people. He even tolerated several little kids who wanted to play. I think he would do well in a home with another dog (he adores other dogs) and probably children. Also, he likes lots of outings and to go in the car. He learns quickly and already knows sit, down, and give. We have been able to successfully crate train him and he sleeps in there at night, no problem (although he would prefer to be on the bed with you). We are working on house training but he still has an accident about once a day. We have yet to figure out what makes the difference, since sometimes he goes even after he's just been outside. He is only so-so with our cats. He doesn't try to hurt them, but chases them mercilessly. He is very protective of our home and is a great watchdog. He is sometimes spooked by bigger men and does much better if they approach him from a seated or squatting position. However, once he warms up he is super friendly. He does not like the water and is terrified of our pool. He will suffer through a bath without too much complaint, though. If you have a lot of time and attention to give a dog, Jordan is definitely your match. He has tons of energy and love to give.

*** How familiar are you with the Labrador Retriever? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
