Description:
Judy is looking for a home because her owners were moving and could not keep her. This sweet Terrier is good with dogs, cats and kids. She is a senior but is still has lots of energy.  She is a happy healthy dog!

Here is what Judy's foster Mom has to say about her:

• Appearance - roughly 50 lbs., white with brown spots/speckles, very short fur

• Energy Level Moderate - She's going on 9 and loves to play more than my 5 year old dog.  She loves to wrestle with my dog, LOVES playing tug of war.  We wake up about 7:30, she sleeps until about 1, we go on a walk, she's up most of the afternoon wrestling and playing, dinner at 6, play some more, and then she's dead to the world from about 8 to the next morning.

• Food Judy east Blue Buffalo twice per day.  She gets one cup of the dry food and I mix in a tablespoon of plain yogurt.  This really helped her upset stomach when I got her and I've just keep her on it.

• Adaptability She's very alert to changes, but calms down quickly.  She gets excited when she sees other dogs on our walks, but when I tell her to sit she does and then calms down.

• Behaviors She may "counter surf" when left unattended.  If you put food away then there are no issues.  She loves to chew, so she is best not having plush toys.  She is good with bones, but can get protective of them around other dogs.  I give her a bone to chew on while supervised, and then take it away if I leave.

• Human Social Skills Very friendly.  I haven't encountered a person that she didn't immediately like

• Animal Social Skills She is great with my dog and my cats.  Judy loves to wrestle with my dog and run around in the backyard.  She'd be great with another dog who loves to play as much as she does.

• Obedience Judy knows come, sit, stay, down.  I haven't tried anything else yet.

• Training She is fully house trained

• Personality Quirks Judy loves to sleep on top of pillows.  On the couch she sleeps on top of the back pillows.  If she's sleeping on my bed, she is actually on top of my pillow.  She's goofy - it's cute.  She also loves attention so if I'm working in my office she will come up to me and growl/woof until I pet her. She is very scared of rain and thunderstorms. She shivers and pants very heavily. The thundershirt doesn't do a whole lot for her, so she takes some medication from the vet.  It takes the edge off for her, but she's still agitated.

• Ideal Home Judy is such a great girl.  She'd really do well in almost any home.  She'd love to have a doggie companion who can play with her.  I like to reiterate that she is going on 9, but you would never know it.

The Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous and intelligent guard dog that is very full of vitality. They are highly protective of their owners and the owner's property. It is usually very friendly, but has an uncanny ability to know when it needs to protect and when everything is okay. Excellent with children in the family, they have a high pain tolerance and will happily put up with rough child play. As with any breed, they should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. Used as all around working farm dogs, they were referred to as "the poor mans horse". They are strong and generally weigh between 40 and 70 lbs. They have a life expectancy of about 12 - 14 years.
