Description:
Priscilla was rescued by a caring neighbor who saw that she was being neglected and beaten. This sweet dog is looking for a forever home after knowing only neglect. We know we can find a loving home that will cherish and love her!

Priscilla is currently being treated for Demodex mange and is on oral medication daily.  Whomever adopts her will be provided with oral medication to help treat her mange.

Leash Manners - Walks well on leash after a few minutes of correcting her for pulling. She's very smart, though, and quickly understands what you want her to do and does want to please you.

Socialization
- Priscilla was wonderful with everyone in our home, including men, women, a 12-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy. She loves to give kisses to everyone if you get your face anywhere near hers! Priscilla was also wonderful with our 3 other large dogs that are all larger than her. She loves to play, run and she can jump! She actually prances when she runs! She reminded us of a deer - it's almost as if she was pouncing and running at the same time. It's quite a sight because Priscilla is so petite, but she can catch air!

Energy Level and Exercise
- Priscilla has a lot of energy, but she harnesses it appropriately. When she is in the house, she just lays on the floor in any room that has a human in it! When she goes outside with the other dogs, she can outplay all of them!

Confidence Level - Priscilla is submissive to humans and is submissive to other dogs, except when it came to toys. She is toy possessive with other dogs and needs a lttle work on that; however, you can take anything out of her mouth and put your hand in her food or pick up her food, and she doesn't even blink - she's extremely submissive. She responds well to new situations and new people. She was a perfect lady at Petco when we stopped there, and was completely unbothered by another, much smaller dog that barked incessantly at her. There were a couple of times that she cowered when approached by my husband as if she was expecting to be hit. It was a little sad really, but not unexpected given her history. Having said that, there was absolutely no aggression in her body language. She just ducked. She quickly overcame that, as we loved on her and gave her lots of attentio. I believe that this behavior would stop completely as soon as she got comfortable in a new home and trusted her new surroundings, routine and family.

Obedience Training - Priscilla knew no tricks when we brought her home, but after spending just the afternoon with us she knew Sit and Down - she learned them within a few minutes! She is super smart.

Behaviors - The only thing we noticed was that she was possessive of her toys with the other dogs. She has a very gentl nature about her. She takes treats from you very gently.

Personality Quirks - I cannot stress enough how sweet Priscilla is and how eager to please! She loves being with people. She loves being petted and loved on. She likes car rides and is very good in the car.

Ideal Home - Priscilla would do very well with an active family - with kids or without because she loves everyone. If placed in a home with another dog or dogs, her possessiveness over her toys would have to be addressed and corrected, but she's so eager to please, I don't think this would be an impossible task. She would need a place to run around so a home with a fenced yard would definitely suit her best.

The Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous and intelligent guard dog that is very full of vitality. They are highly protective of their owners and the owner's property. It is usually very friendly, but has an uncanny ability to know when it needs to protect and when everything is okay. Excellent with children in the family, they have a high pain tolerance and will happily put up with rough child play. As with any breed, they should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. Used as all around working farm dogs, they were referred to as "the poor mans horse". They are strong and generally weigh between 40 and 70 lbs. They have a life expectancy of about 12 - 14 years.
