Description:
Lucy is a very loving, very sweet Shepherd mix puppy. We were contacted about her by Mary Beth at Seminole County Animal Control. She'd been hit by a car and had a broken leg. Their budget does not allow them to treat animals but they are really good people and reach out to rescues such as ours to help such animals. Would we take her? Of course! Sadly, the damage to Lucy's elbow joint was extensive and Dr Scholl was unable to save it. Her front right leg has been removed but she is recovering well. Lucy loves to cuddle in laps and to give kisses. We expect her to be available for adoption in late May but in the mean time are hoping to have some people sponsor Lucy to help us with her medical expenses.
5/14 Foster Update:
"Lucy is a sweet shep mix puppy who currently weighs 20 lbs. and will probably get up to 45 lbs. She loves other dogs, cats, kids, lizards, etc. She gets around really well and can climb stairs and play with my big dogs. Because of her surgery her new owner will have to be careful to keep her weight normal and not stress her legs and she will also need some bone supplements as she gets older to help strengthen her bones. She is almost housebroken and completely crate trained. She loves to nap with me on the couch. I don't suggest she go to someone who is gone all day because she is used to company."
