Juliette came from another animal shelter where her time was up. She is an energetic puppy who would love to be in a playful home.
Foster Update: Juliette is a beautiful black retriever mix with a sweetheart personality. She is happiest by your side and is content tagging along while doing chores. She gets along with my big dog, other pups, kisses my old lady chihuahua, plays with the cats and can't figure out my chickens. Juliette is crate trained, good on leash, knows sit, stay and is working on housebreaking. She is fantastic for baths and does well in the car. Playing outside and napping on the porch are two of her favorite things, as well as a good chew bone! Juliette will make a great family dog and will thrive with love and attention.
Foster Update: Juliette is doing great and enjoying her times spent with my 5 month old pup. They spend a good part of the day romping around the yard and sharing toys. Juliette LOVES the water and is first one in the puppy pool when I fill it every morning. She lays down, sprawls out and drinks away! It's hilarious to watch and even funnier to watch her keep all the other dogs out. Juliette prefers to swim alone! She now knows the word "crate", and gives me no hesitation at nap and bedtime. She is almost completely housebroken, and working very hard on her manners. Juliette is a happy girl and loves everyone. She is truly a great dog and anyone would be lucky to have her!
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
