Description:

My name is Snowball. I have been with PRBJ since 3/8/12.

Foster Update 8/16/12:
Snowball is all about eye contact. She seems to want to communicate with her eyes. For example, when she wants to be fed she will wait till I look at her and then turn to go to my pantry where I keep the kitty cans of food. Same as when she wants to play with me she will lock eyes with me, turn around and go to the room where we play with her furry toy mouse. She is the most alert and intelligent cat I've ever known. She still loves to play and I've had to replenish my stock of the furry toy mice.

Snowball would do very well as the only pet. She might however, get along with a cat that can stand its own ground. She gets along well with older children but can also tolerate little kids so long as they don't try to handle her too much. Snowball is not a big eater hence her small frame. She loves to be scratched on the top of her head and under the chin but again not too much!

The sunbathing, chasing garden lizards and frogs can take the backseat for now because currently Snowball's object of entertainment is a second new cat--a big, handsome, carefree cat--we brought in to foster care. The two constantly have staring contests and as little as she is Snowball always wins! At times she is so overcome by curiosity that she will slowly inch over to the other cat and take in a few whiffs of him. Other times Snowball loves to chase the poor boy and pounce on him. 'Control' seems to be the name of the game with Snowball. She will take a little bit more time to fully accept this newcomer and coexist with him more peacefully.

Foster Update 6/14/12:  Snowball has grown a little bigger. She still likes to play--her favorite toy right now is a small blue mouse that looks about ready to be retired! She is very alert and playful in the mornings and late evenings. She will wake you up in the mornings with her mews and purrs--I've tucked away my alarm clock--she's my wake-up-call now!! Now and then she may take a snooze in the bathroom sink or the laundry basket filled with fresh, clean clothes. She still loves to lounge in our garden inside our screened pool area. The birds, lizards and squirrels provide her all the entertainment and target practice! She is getting better with us holding her for short periods but still she would much rather you admire her from a distance! She is after all the snow princess!

3/29/12: Snowball is very playful during the day, even more so if someone is ready to play with her. Her favorite toys are a small rectangle shaped stuffed toy, a long dried blade of grass and my daughter's rubber hairband! Outside in the screened pool deck Snowball's predatory instincts come alive and she's on the prowl for lizards and birds! Thankfully they're outside the screen and out of harm's way! When I call her name or talk to her she comes running responding with faint 'mews'. Although she loves to be petted she does not like being held too much. She is not a lap kitty either and prefers to lounge by herself somewhere quite. In the night however, she does like to be close to you snoozing by your head or foot.

Snowball is a sweet, petite young girl. Friendly and affectionate.
