This is one Lucky Lady as she was feed by a dedicated woman during her days of living outside. Then, one day, she found herself preganant and this same dedicated woman made certain that not only she was well fed but also her babies too! Lucky Lady was a good momma but now it is time for her to shine. Being rescued, rewarded with five beautiful offsprings, and rejoicing in indoor living, she keeps wondering what more could she ask for. We keep telling her that truly, there's more, it's called a final transition - a forever home - but since she has yet to ever have that in her life it's difficult, we believe, for her to understand. 8/15 Volunteer Update:
Lucky Lady has the most beautiful green eyes and she is such a sweetheart. I think she does suffer a little from "black cat syndrome", but unlike some of our more outgoing residents, she's not quite sure how to overcome that. She'll come up to you looking for attention, but if too many others crowd around, she's the first to shy away. I think she'd do best in an environment where she can shine and not feel like she has to compete for attention. Not necessarily an only cat, but maybe a home with only one other pet. There is no shortage of love with her. She has all the inclinations of being a pillow-cat AND a lap-cat...she's just got to find the right person to be that for.

10/10 Volunteer Update:
Lucky Lady does not seem to be a fan of canines. She exhibited defensive physical and verbal cues in reaction to several dogs that came in the store, even ones that weren't nearby but were looking in the direction of the cats.
Sweet, low-key kitty all other times. Definitely a people cat though...she enjoys pets and rubs up against your leg readily. She loses patience with the kittens fairly quickly, and wants to be left out of their games, but I've seen that response again and again with adult females.

The Tuxedo Cat is not a reference to breed but to color. According to www.cat-lovers-only.com, a black-over-white (one-third white) bicolor coat is your "typical" tuxedo. The black fur covers most of the back and the tail. They often have a white face with a black "mask" effect. Some of them will have black spots on their faces, or a "goatee" effect of black on the chin. In addition, they have a white underbelly (chest and abdomen), and lower legs and paws.

Breed identity is defined by each registry, but some of the breeds accepted in black and white are the Manx, the Persian, the Norwegian Forest Cat, and the Maine Coon. Oriental cat breeds do not show in this color combination.

Perhaps the most well-known tuxedo cat ever is Sylvester, of Warner Brothers Looney Tunes fame. Sylvester has been chasing Tweety Bird since 1945. Of course, he is always unsuccessful. This either makes him the most persistent cat in the world, or the worst hunter of the feline species, or both.
